Bengali entertainment is preparing for a major expansion beyond its traditional audience. Netflix has announced a partnership with Hoichoi, the Bengali-language streaming platform, to bring popular shows and upcoming originals to viewers in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Announced on October 22, 2026, the collaboration covers every new Hoichoi series premiering over the next two years. While the shows will continue debuting in Bengali on Hoichoi, their Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions will stream exclusively on Netflix.
The agreement also includes 14 existing series and plans to develop original adaptations.
Which Hoichoi Shows Are Coming to Netflix?
The initial collection features 14 titles spanning crime thrillers, detective mysteries, supernatural horror, romance and courtroom drama.
Among the notable additions are Mahanagar, Sampurna, Lajja, Eken Sirji, Madam Inspector, Bloodlines and Parineeta: A Love Story.
Other announced titles include Anjaan Saaye, The Curse of Parnashavari, The Adventures of Daadi & Jagga, Raat Abhi Baaki Hain, Achinta: Trial By Law, Shaadi Ka Siyappa and Queens.
Rather than simply acquiring a selection of completed shows, Netflix is establishing an ongoing distribution arrangement for Hoichoi’s upcoming releases.
That distinction makes the partnership especially significant for regional storytelling.
The Cursed Temple of Kauriburi Arrives November 6
The first new release under the agreement will be The Cursed Temple of Kauriburi, a folklore-inspired horror series starring Jeetu Kamal, Solanki Roy and Paoli Dam.
The show premieres on November 6, 2026, with its Bengali version arriving on Hoichoi alongside Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions on Netflix.
Additional titles will follow in the coming months, although their individual premiere dates have not yet been announced.
Netflix and Hoichoi Will Also Develop Original Adaptations
The agreement extends beyond distributing existing content.
Netflix and Hoichoi will collaborate on new original series that reimagine selected Hoichoi stories, with Hoichoi Studios overseeing production.
Details about the adaptations, including their casts and creative teams, remain undisclosed.
For Netflix, the partnership expands its regional catalogue without requiring audiences to discover every show through its original language.
For Hoichoi, it creates a broader distribution route while preserving its role as the home of Bengali premieres.
The larger opportunity lies in making regional stories accessible without necessarily changing their cultural identity.
As Indian audiences increasingly discover entertainment across language barriers, this partnership could introduce Bengali storytelling to viewers who have never previously explored Hoichoi’s catalogue.
