Aditya Roy Kapur and Milap Zaveri’s upcoming romantic drama is moving closer to production. The yet-untitled T-Series film is expected to go on floors by the end of October 2026, with pre-production already underway and Kapur preparing for the role. The one major piece still missing is the female lead, who has not yet been officially cast.
The project was announced earlier this year as an intense musical love story, with Zaveri promising a much more aggressive romantic role for Kapur than audiences may usually associate with him. The director described the film as a “violent and deeply emotional musical love story”, while also saying Kapur would play a “heroic, passionate and aggressive character.”
That description immediately places the film somewhere between Kapur’s established romantic image and Zaveri’s recent fascination with darker, more volatile love stories.
The female lead is still not locked
The most notable update is that production is advancing without an actress publicly confirmed opposite Kapur.
Bhagyashri Borse had previously been linked to the project, but T-Series formally denied those reports in August. A spokesperson for the production house said:
“The reports of Bhagyashree Borse being a part of T-Series and Milap Zaveri’s upcoming project with Aditya Roy Kapur are untrue. The production house will officially announce the actress soon.”
That clarification remains important because several names continue to circulate online, but none should currently be treated as confirmed until T-Series makes its announcement.
One recent report has suggested that Krithi Shetty is being discussed for the role, but the makers have not confirmed her casting. It is therefore more accurate to treat that as industry chatter rather than a final decision.
Milap Zaveri wants to return to angrier romance
The film also appears to be a deliberate continuation of the creative direction Zaveri adopted after Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat.
Speaking about the project in July, the filmmaker said he wanted to make “angrier films” filled with more passion, rage, violence, love and heartbreak. He also pushed back against the idea that complicated or toxic relationships should automatically be softened for contemporary audiences, arguing that films should be able to depict different shades of love without turning every character into a moral example.
That makes Kapur an interesting choice.
His career has repeatedly returned to romantic dramas, most famously with Aashiqui 2, while Malang allowed him to combine romance with a darker and more physically intense screen presence. Zaveri’s description of this new character seems designed to bring those two sides of Kapur’s image together: romantic lead and angry action-oriented hero.
T-Series is also a familiar partner for the actor, making the collaboration feel less like an experiment and more like a conscious attempt to put Kapur back into the kind of music-driven love story that has historically worked well for him.
The film may already have a title — but that is not official yet
Another detail currently floating around is the title Tum Hi Aana.
A recent industry report claimed the project has been given that name, apparently borrowing from the popular song from Zaveri’s 2019 film Marjaavaan. However, neither T-Series nor the director has publicly confirmed the title, and other current listings still refer to the movie as untitled.
So for now, the safest way to refer to it remains Aditya Roy Kapur and Milap Zaveri’s untitled romantic drama.
The film is expected to release sometime in 2027, although no specific date has been announced.
With cameras expected to roll later this month, the next major announcement should logically be the heroine. Until then, the more interesting development is that Zaveri is clearly building the film around Kapur’s strongest existing screen identity — romance — while trying to push it into a louder, angrier and more violent space than Aashiqui 2-style heartbreak.
