Nana and T.O.P are officially a couple.
The Scandal actor and former BIGBANG member confirmed their relationship on October 2, with both agencies saying the pair first became close while filming T.O.P’s music video earlier this year and developed a romantic relationship around June.
T.O.P’s agency, Top Spot Pictures, said:
“They first met while filming [T.O.P’s] music video and formed a connection, after which they grew closer, and [their connection] developed into a romantic relationship around this past June.”
Nana’s agency Sublime offered a similarly direct confirmation, saying the two “formed a connection” through the music-video shoot and are currently happily dating.
What makes the relationship especially interesting is how clearly the timeline can now be traced back to one project: T.O.P’s “Studio54” music video.
T.O.P reportedly chose Nana himself for the music video
Nana appeared opposite T.O.P in the video for “Studio54,” a lead track from his first full-length solo album, Another Dimension. The pair filmed the project in January 2026, months before the relationship reportedly turned romantic.
According to Korean reports, T.O.P personally approached Nana about appearing in the video.
That detail became more interesting after an older conversation between the two resurfaced following the dating confirmation. During promotional content released in April, Nana asked T.O.P why he had chosen her for the project.
T.O.P explained that from the moment he created the song, he imagined a woman with a mysterious quality who could not easily be placed in a particular era, and felt Nana matched that image best.
At the time, the exchange simply sounded like an artist discussing a casting decision.
Now it also marks one of the earliest documented moments in a relationship that apparently developed away from the cameras over the following months.
Friendship reportedly became romance around June
The two did not immediately begin dating after the January shoot.
Their agencies say Nana and T.O.P continued getting to know each other after working together before their relationship developed romantically around June 2026. That puts them at roughly four months together by the time they publicly confirmed the relationship in October.
The confirmation followed a Dispatch report that included photographs of the pair spending time together and said they had continued meeting despite busy professional schedules.
What is notable is how quickly both sides acknowledged the relationship.
Celebrity dating reports in South Korea are often met with carefully worded statements saying agencies are “checking” or that an artist’s private life cannot be confirmed. In this case, both agencies confirmed the relationship the same day.
Nana later went a step further and addressed fans herself.
“You must have been really surprised,” she wrote on Bubble, before adding, “I’m a bit shy, too” and, “We will date nicely and healthily!”
That personal message makes this more than an agency-confirmed dating report. Nana has publicly acknowledged the relationship in her own words as well.
Both stars are in particularly visible phases of their careers
The relationship announcement arrives while both Nana and T.O.P are enjoying renewed attention as actors.
Nana originally debuted with After School in 2009 and later became part of Orange Caramel before moving increasingly into acting. Her credits include The Good Wife, Glitch, Mask Girl and Confession, while she recently appeared in Netflix’s The Scandal.
T.O.P, meanwhile, debuted with BIGBANG in 2006 before building a parallel acting career. After several years away from high-profile entertainment work, he returned to acting as Thanos in Squid Game Season 2, which premiered in December 2024, and subsequently resumed his music career with his solo album in April 2026.
That shared background may also help explain why the two connected so easily.
Both started as second-generation K-pop idols, both moved significantly into acting, and both have experience navigating the unusually intense attention that surrounds Korean celebrity careers.
One music video became something much bigger
Celebrity romances that begin on film or music-video sets are hardly unusual, but Nana and T.O.P’s timeline is unusually neat.
January: they film “Studio54.”
April: they appear together in promotional content and discuss why Nana was cast.
Around June: according to both agencies, their relationship becomes romantic.
October: they publicly confirm they are dating.
There is still plenty the couple is keeping private, and neither agency has shared details beyond the basic timeline. But unlike earlier speculation, the central facts are no longer rumor.
Nana and T.O.P met through a music video, grew closer afterward and are now openly dating.
For a video built around T.O.P choosing Nana because she had the exact mysterious quality he imagined for the song, the casting decision ended up having consequences neither of them publicly mentioned at the time.
