Prabhas’ Salaar 2 to Begin Shooting in June 2027

Prabhas and director Prashanth Neel are finally moving closer to their much-awaited reunion. Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam is expected to begin shooting in June 2027, giving fans their clearest production update since the first film arrived in theaters nearly three years ago.

The development emerged on October 23, 2026, during a promotional video featuring Prabhas and Neel for the horror film 418. The timing was particularly special, as the interaction coincided with Prabhas’ 47th birthday.

Prashanth Neel Reveals Salaar 2 Shooting Plans

During their lighthearted conversation, Prabhas playfully asked Neel about his birthday gift, suggesting that getting Salaar 2 underway would be the perfect present.

Neel responded with the long-awaited update:

“Salaar 2, next year, June.”

Prabhas then encouraged the filmmaker to repeat the announcement for audiences.

The exchange quickly attracted attention because the sequel’s production timeline has remained uncertain despite repeated discussions about its development.

In August 2026, reports indicated that Neel and producer Vijay Kiragandur had begun pre-production, including discussions about the screenplay and shooting schedules.

However, June 2027 remains a planned production start rather than confirmation that filming has already begun.

What Will Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam Explore?

The sequel will continue the story introduced in Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, which was released in December 2023.

Prabhas is expected to return as Devaratha, also known as Deva, while Prithviraj Sukumaran is expected to reprise his role as Varadharaja Mannar.

The original film explored their childhood friendship against the violent political struggles of Khansaar, a fictional territory divided by competing factions.

Its conclusion revealed important details about Deva’s ancestry, establishing a much larger conflict for the continuation.

The title Shouryaanga Parvam also points toward the significance of Deva’s family background.

While the sequel is expected to explore the consequences of these revelations, its complete storyline and returning ensemble have not been officially detailed.

Why Has Salaar 2 Taken So Long?

Coordinating the schedules of Prabhas and Prashanth Neel has been a significant challenge.

Neel is currently occupied with his upcoming film starring Jr NTR, while Prabhas has several major projects, including Fauzi, Spirit and the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD.

These commitments help explain why the next chapter of Salaar has taken time to move toward production.

Backed by Hombale Films, the sequel carries substantial expectations following the first installment’s reported worldwide gross of more than ₹600 crore.

No theatrical release date has been announced for Salaar 2.

For now, the June 2027 filming target provides a clearer indication of when Prabhas and Neel intend to return to Khansaar. The next important milestone will be confirmation of the shooting schedule and returning cast.
