Tara Sutaria has officially joined Aditya Roy Kapur as the female lead in filmmaker Milap Milan Zaveri’s upcoming musical love story. The untitled project will bring the two actors together on screen for the first time, with T-Series backing an ambitious romantic drama built around passion, emotional conflict and violence.
The casting announcement was made on October 24, 2026, following earlier reports that the filmmakers were searching for a leading actress.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar and co-produced by Shiv Chanana, the film is expected to begin shooting later this year.
Tara Sutaria Reunites With Milap Milan Zaveri
The project marks Sutaria’s reunion with Zaveri and Bhushan Kumar following their collaboration on Marjaavaan (2019), which also starred Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh.
Including Ek Villain Returns (2022), this will be her third association with T-Series.
Interestingly, both earlier films combined romance with violence, making the new project a familiar creative space for the actress.
However, the filmmakers have not revealed her character’s identity or the circumstances surrounding the central relationship.
Aditya Roy Kapur Returns to Intense Musical Romance
For Aditya Roy Kapur, the film marks another collaboration with T-Series, the company behind Aashiqui 2 and Metro… In Dino.
His portrayal of Rahul Jaykar in Aashiqui 2 remains one of his most recognizable romantic performances.
Zaveri previously explained that Kapur was his preferred choice because of his ability to portray emotionally intense characters.
Speaking to Bombay Times in July, the director described his approach to the project:
“The film is its own beast.”
He also expressed his ambition to create a film appealing to both single-screen and multiplex audiences.
That combination of heightened romance and mainstream action could distinguish the project from a conventional love story.
When Will the New Film Release?
The makers have described the film as an emotionally charged musical romance in which songs will play an important part in the storytelling.
However, the title, supporting cast, music composers and detailed storyline remain undisclosed.
Production is currently planned for late 2026, with a theatrical release targeted for 2027.
An exact release date has not been announced.
For now, the biggest attraction is the fresh pairing of Sutaria and Kapur, particularly with Zaveri returning to the dramatic romantic territory that has defined several of his films.
