Ranbir Kapoor and Yash’s much-awaited Ramayana: Rise of a Legend is showing encouraging signs at the box office even before its theatrical release. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the mythological epic has reportedly collected ₹5.33 crore in advance bookings across India, selling approximately 1.28 lakh tickets with 14 days remaining before its November 5 release.
The film opened advance bookings on October 20, coinciding with Dussehra, giving audiences more than two weeks to secure tickets for one of the year’s most anticipated Indian productions.
Ramayana Advance Booking: ₹5.33 Crore and 1.28 Lakh Tickets
According to figures attributed to trade-tracking platform Sacnilk by Hindustan Times, Ramayana recorded ₹5.33 crore in advance ticket sales, excluding blocked seats.
Approximately 1.28 lakh tickets were sold across 3,710 shows.
The distinction between blocked seats and confirmed ticket sales is important. Some trade reports have quoted higher totals that include blocked inventory, which should not be treated as equivalent to tickets purchased by moviegoers.
The reported ₹5.33 crore is an advance-booking gross figure, not the film’s opening-day India net collection.
These figures remain preliminary and will change as additional bookings are recorded.
Hindi Screenings Drive Early Demand
The Hindi version is currently dominating advance sales, while Kannada and Telugu screenings are also contributing to the film’s early business.
Premium theatrical formats have attracted particular attention.
In Mumbai, certain IMAX recliner tickets have been listed at prices exceeding ₹2,700, demonstrating the premium pricing attached to select screenings.
However, expensive tickets alone cannot determine a film’s opening-day performance. The number of tickets sold across regular screenings will provide a clearer picture as the release approaches.
Can Ramayana Deliver a Record Opening?
Produced by Namit Malhotra, Ramayana features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana.
Sunny Deol portrays Hanuman, while Ravie Dubey plays Lakshmana.
The film also brings together Oscar-winning composers A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer, with DNEG handling its visual effects.
Planned as a two-part cinematic adaptation, the first installment arrives worldwide on November 5, 2026, followed by the second part in 2027.
While the early ticket sales indicate substantial interest, predicting a record-breaking opening would be premature.
The more revealing test will be whether demand continues expanding across cities, languages and standard-priced screenings during the final week before release.
