Street Fighter Leads With $13M; You Can See Everything Takes Second

Paramount’s Street Fighter has taken the top spot at the North American box office, earning $13 million on Friday, October 16, 2026, while A24’s documentary You Can See Everything delivered an unexpected second-place finish with $5.5 million.

The video game adaptation opened across 3,575 theaters, with its Friday earnings including $4 million from Thursday previews. Paramount is projecting an approximately $31 million opening weekend, giving the action film a comfortable lead over its competitors.

Street Fighter Brings the Arcade Franchise Back to Theaters

Directed by Kitao Sakurai, Street Fighter stars Andrew Koji as Ryu and Noah Centineo as Ken Masters. Set in 1993, the story follows the estranged fighters as Chun-Li, played by Callina Liang, recruits them for the World Warrior Tournament.

The ensemble also features Jason Momoa, David Dastmalchian, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Vidyut Jammwal.

Although its projected $31 million debut represents a solid start, the film’s long-term performance will depend on how strongly audiences respond beyond opening weekend.

You Can See Everything Delivers a Surprising Result

A24’s You Can See Everything collected approximately $5.54 million from just 855 theaters.

Directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, the documentary follows Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes during the period leading up to her imprisonment.

Interestingly, the documentary generated approximately $6,484 per theater, compared with Street Fighter’s $3,636. That gives the A24 release nearly 78% higher Friday earnings per location, despite its considerably smaller theatrical footprint.

The documentary is projected to earn approximately $13.2 million across the weekend.

Other New Releases Struggle for Momentum

Focus Features’ Sense and Sensibility opened with $3.31 million, while 20th Century Studios’ survival thriller Whalefall collected $3 million.

While Street Fighter looks set to win the weekend, You Can See Everything has emerged as the more surprising box-office performer.
