The witches of Crescent Veil Academy are getting another semester. Disney has renewed Coven Academy for Season 2, bringing the supernatural teen drama back after a promising debut on Disney+ and Hulu. The announcement, made on October 26, arrives just weeks after the first season introduced viewers to a world of witchcraft, forbidden romance and dangerous family secrets.
Created by Tim Federle, best known for High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, the series follows teenage witches and their warlock classmates at an elite boarding school in New Orleans. Its blend of supernatural mystery and coming-of-age drama has helped it find an audience, particularly among younger viewers.
Why Disney Renewed Coven Academy
According to TheWrap, Coven Academy became the No. 1 streaming series among viewers aged 12–17 during its premiere weekend and ranked among the top five series across all viewers. The first season also accumulated 20.3 million global viewing hours on Disney+ and Hulu during its first three weeks. Its opening chapter generated an additional 30 million views across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.
The show’s bite-sized storytelling format is another distinguishing feature. Season 1 consists of 21 chapters, each running approximately 10 to 15 minutes, offering a quick-entry format for audiences who prefer shorter episodes.
What Could Happen in Season 2?
The renewal gives the series room to explore the revelations that shaped its first season. Malina Pauli Weissman plays Briar, a fiercely independent New Yorker whose search for answers about her mother’s death leads her to Crescent Veil. There, she forms a coven with Sasha, played by Jordan Leftwich, and Tegan, played by Ora Duplass.
The first season also features Malachi Barton as Jake, Louis Thresher as Ollie and Tiffani Thiessen as the mysterious school head Miss Graves. Its finale leaves several relationships and supernatural threats unresolved, creating plenty of possibilities for the next chapter.
Disney has not yet announced a Season 2 premiere date, production schedule or full returning-cast details. Those details will determine when viewers can return to the academy and discover what comes next.
For now, fans can revisit the first season on Disney+ and Hulu while waiting for more information about the renewal. With its mix of magic, mystery and teenage drama, Coven Academy has earned another chance to expand its supernatural world.
