Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is closing in on the ₹700 crore worldwide box office milestone after an impressive second Saturday. The Nelson Dilipkumar-directed action entertainer collected an estimated ₹24.15 crore net in India on October 24, taking its ten-day worldwide gross to ₹666.30 crore. The sequel has already overtaken the reported lifetime collections of the original Jailer and Vijay’s Leo.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Jailer 2 has accumulated ₹373 crore net in India, while its domestic gross stands at ₹436.80 crore. Overseas markets have contributed another ₹229.50 crore, accounting for approximately 34.4% of the film’s global earnings.
Jailer 2 Records 66.6% Jump on Day 10
After a strong opening, Jailer 2 experienced a noticeable slowdown during its second week. The film earned ₹17.15 crore on Thursday and slipped further to ₹14.50 crore on Friday.
However, Saturday brought a significant recovery, with collections rising 66.6% to ₹24.15 crore across all languages.
The Tamil version remained the biggest contributor, earning ₹16.25 crore on Day 10. Telugu screenings added ₹4.40 crore, followed by Hindi with ₹2.90 crore and Kannada with ₹60 lakh.
The weekend recovery is encouraging, particularly after several days of declining collections. Nevertheless, Sunday’s performance will be crucial in determining whether the rebound extends beyond the usual weekend increase.
Jailer 2 Surpasses Original Film’s Lifetime Collection
Released on October 15, 2026, Jailer 2 has already exceeded the reported ₹604.7 crore worldwide lifetime gross of its 2023 predecessor.
That puts the sequel approximately ₹61.6 crore ahead of the original film’s lifetime total in just ten days.
The film has also surpassed Vijay’s Leo, which reportedly earned ₹605.90 crore worldwide.
Its next major benchmark is Rajinikanth’s science-fiction blockbuster 2.0, whose worldwide collection is commonly reported at approximately ₹691 crore. Based on that figure, Jailer 2 needs another ₹24.70 crore to overtake it.
The film also requires ₹33.70 crore to enter the ₹700 crore club. Both milestones are within reach if the current theatrical momentum continues.
Can Jailer 2 Maintain Its Box Office Momentum?
The sequel brings Rajinikanth back as retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, alongside familiar faces and new additions including Vidya Balan, Mithun Chakraborty and SJ Suryah. Appearances by Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff and Shiva Rajkumar add to its ensemble appeal.
The challenge now is sustaining admissions after the second weekend, particularly as newer releases approach.
With ₹666.30 crore already collected worldwide, Jailer 2 has established itself as one of 2026’s biggest Indian theatrical successes. Its eventual position among Tamil cinema’s highest-grossing films will depend on its remaining domestic and overseas run.
All figures are trade estimates through October 24, 2026, and may be revised.
