Ranveer Singh is reportedly preparing to return to the sets of his upcoming zombie survival thriller Pralay on October 27, 2026, following a short break from filming. The actor is expected to complete a brief Mumbai schedule before stepping away from the production again.
According to an October 19 exclusive report by Variety India, Singh’s latest filming commitment will last approximately two weeks. The development comes after the actor paused work ahead of the birth of his second daughter with Deepika Padukone on September 19.
Ranveer Singh’s Pralay Shooting Schedule Gets Revised
The original production plan called for Singh to continue filming until Diwali 2026 before beginning his paternity break. Another major schedule was expected to follow in 2027.
However, those arrangements changed when Singh stepped away earlier than initially planned.
The latest report suggests that filming will resume on October 27, although the actor’s subsequent shooting dates have not been finalized.
The revised approach allows Singh to return to work temporarily while continuing to spend time with his family.
Importantly, the October 27 date comes from industry sources rather than a formal production announcement.
Why Pralay Is Being Filmed in Mumbai
Directed by Jai Mehta, Pralay began principal photography in Mumbai on August 16, 2026.
Initially, the production was expected to include an Australian shooting schedule. However, those plans were reportedly revised to accommodate Singh’s family commitments.
The film is now being shot at real locations across Mumbai, which also serves as the setting for its post-apocalyptic storyline.
This location choice is particularly interesting because Pralay explores survival in a city devastated by a catastrophic outbreak. Using recognizable Mumbai locations could help ground the film’s large-scale disaster setting in a familiar environment.
The project also represents Singh’s first venture into the zombie survival genre.
Kalyani Priyadarshan Joins Ranveer Singh in Pralay
Pralay features Kalyani Priyadarshan opposite Ranveer Singh, marking the Malayalam actress’s Hindi cinema debut.
Earlier photographs from the sets showed Singh sporting longer hair and a rugged appearance, offering an early indication of his character’s look.
Jai Mehta, who previously co-directed Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, is directing the project.
The film is backed by Ananya Birla’s Birla Studios, Hansal Mehta and Sahil Saigal’s True Story Films, and Singh’s Maa Kasam Films.
Following the success of the Dhurandhar films, Pralay represents another significant shift in Singh’s choice of roles.
However, the makers have not announced an official theatrical release date, and the complete production timeline remains undisclosed.
For now, the reported October 27 schedule indicates that filming is moving forward, even as Singh balances his professional commitments with family life.
