A third woman has testified in Russell Brand’s ongoing rape and sexual assault trial, alleging that the British comedian had a disturbing grin on his face before sexually assaulting her at a London bar in 2004.
During proceedings at Southwark Crown Court on Monday, October 19, 2026, jurors watched a recorded police interview in which the woman described an alleged encounter with Brand at a birthday celebration in Soho.
Brand, 51, has pleaded not guilty to all seven charges brought against him.
Third Accuser Describes Russell Brand’s Alleged Behaviour
The woman, who worked for MTV at the time, told investigators that she had been excited to meet Brand after watching his television appearances.
However, she alleged that their interaction changed abruptly within approximately one minute of being introduced.
According to her account, Brand unexpectedly grabbed her breasts during an ordinary conversation.
She recalled seeing a “big grin” on his face, describing his expression as being “like a clown.”
The woman said there had been no flirting or indication that their conversation was sexual before the alleged incident.
She further alleged that Brand grabbed her arm and pulled her into a nearby toilet, where he forced her to perform oral sex despite her objections.
Woman Says She Felt Shocked After Alleged Assault
During the recorded interview, the complainant described feeling overwhelmed and unable to react as the alleged incident unfolded.
“I just froze. I didn’t know what to do,” she told investigators.
She also alleged that Brand behaved casually afterwards, suggesting they exchange phone numbers.
The woman explained that she initially gave friends and relatives an incomplete account because she felt ashamed and feared being judged.
She said media investigations into Brand’s alleged misconduct in 2023 eventually prompted her to approach police.
Russell Brand’s Defence Challenges the Allegations
During cross-examination, Brand’s barrister, Ian Winter KC, challenged the woman’s account, suggesting she had willingly accompanied Brand into the toilet.
The complainant rejected that suggestion, maintaining that the encounter was not consensual.
Brand has consistently denied engaging in non-consensual sexual activity.
His defence has also questioned whether some allegations were influenced by media coverage published years after the incidents allegedly occurred.
What Happens Next in Russell Brand’s Trial?
Brand faces three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault, involving allegations from six women between 1999 and 2009.
The trial began at Southwark Crown Court earlier this month, with prosecutors presenting testimony concerning incidents allegedly occurring at entertainment venues, workplaces and private locations.
The latest testimony represents another stage in the prosecution’s case, rather than a judicial determination that the alleged conduct occurred.
Proceedings are continuing, and the jury has not reached a verdict.
