What started as another dramatic episode of Lock Upp Season 2 quickly turned into one of its most emotional moments after actress Akanksha Chamola found herself at the center of a deeply personal revelation. Just days after making headlines for confirming that she and her husband Gaurav Khanna are heading for divorce, the actress had to deal with another private matter becoming public on national television. This time, it wasn’t a confession she had planned to make herself. Instead, the secret was exposed inside the house, leaving her emotional and struggling to hold back tears.
The unexpected moment unfolded after Akanksha learned that fellow contestant Shreya Kalra had shared her personal secret with Sufi Motiwala. According to the episode, Shreya overheard Akanksha talking about it backstage before the contestants entered the house and later revealed it during the game. The revelation reportedly cost Akanksha an important lifeline in the competition. More than losing an advantage, she appeared hurt that something so personal had come out without her permission.
Akanksha Explains Her Past After The Secret Is Revealed
Realising there was no way to avoid the conversation anymore, Akanksha chose to speak openly in front of the housemates. While trying to compose herself, she explained that the experiences she was talking about belonged to a period before her marriage. She made it clear that she wanted people to hear her side rather than judge her based on incomplete information.
She said, “Main shaadi se pehle bisexual thi. Mere relations rahey hain kuch ladkiyo ke saath. Bohot zyaada intimate relations nahi rahe hain but I have been in relations with a few females (I was bisexual before marriage. I have been in relations with females but they were not really intimate).”
Her words changed the atmosphere inside the house almost instantly. The discussion moved beyond the competition, with the focus shifting toward her personal journey and the emotions she had been carrying. It was evident that speaking about it publicly was far more difficult than she had expected.
‘Mere Liye All Females Are Beautiful’
Akanksha continued by sharing why she has always felt emotionally connected to women and why she considers them her safe space. Rather than speaking about labels, she described the comfort and emotional security she has experienced throughout her life. She also reflected on how society often misunderstands close relationships between women and attaches unnecessary assumptions to them.
She said, “Mujhe ladkiya pasand hain. Main admire karti hoon, main attract hoti hoon unke taraf. I think mera woh safe space hain. Growing up, mujhe lagta hain ki its a very male dominated world toh humesha aap mummy, beheno ke taraf jaate ho… kahi na kahi jo comfort zone unse milta hain. I love that feminine energy, I love that comfort and thrive in that. Aise society mein rehte hain jaha log bolte hain ki ladkiya dost nahi rah sakti jealousy hota hain ya competition hota hain. Mere mein woh sab nahi tha, mere liye all females are beautiful. Its a tag that society has given, for me its pure love (I love women, I admire and am attracted to them. They are my safe space. It is a male dominated world and one always gets close to their mother and sisters… that comfort one gets from them. The society says that women cannot be friends but it was never like that for me. There was no competition or jealousy).”
Her emotional explanation became one of the biggest talking points of the episode. While reality shows often thrive on shocking twists, this moment stood out because it involved a contestant opening up about something deeply personal after losing control of her own story. Many viewers are likely to see the incident as a reminder of how quickly private conversations can become part of the game.
Farah Khan Comforts The Actress As She Breaks Down
As the conversation continued, Akanksha admitted that she had been feeling exposed ever since entering the reality show. She even said that joining Lock Upp might have been a mistake because of everything that had unfolded around her personal life. The emotional pressure eventually became too much, and she broke down in tears while speaking in front of everyone.
Host Farah Khan stepped in to comfort the actress, giving her a hug as she tried to regain her composure. The heartfelt moment offered a rare pause in the middle of the show’s usual drama and reminded viewers that real emotions often lie behind reality television’s biggest headlines.
Akanksha has been a familiar face on Indian television through shows like Santoshi Maa, Yeh Hai Aashiqui and Crime Patrol. She married Gaurav Khanna in November 2016 after the couple reportedly met during an audition and dated for some time before tying the knot in Kanpur. Last week, she revealed on Lock Upp Season 2 that the two are heading for divorce, making this week’s deeply personal revelation another significant chapter in her journey on the reality show.
