KATSEYE members have shared their excitement about Sophia Laforteza’s upcoming return, praising their bandmate for prioritizing her health during her temporary break from group activities.
Speaking to E! News at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on October 18, Lara Raj, Daniela Avanzini, Megan Skiendiel and Yoonchae expressed their support for Sophia, whose return is officially scheduled for January 2027.
KATSEYE Members Praise Sophia’s Courage
Lara Raj spoke on behalf of the group, expressing admiration for how Sophia handled her time away from the spotlight.
“We’re so proud of her. She’s really been so brave,” Lara said.
She also emphasized that the group respected Sophia’s decision to take time for herself rather than continue performing.
“She’s our sister, so we can’t wait for her to come back,” she added.
The comments offered a glimpse into the members’ relationship as KATSEYE continues performing without two of its original six members.
When Will Sophia Return to KATSEYE?
Sophia announced her temporary hiatus in August 2026 to focus on her mental health and overall well-being.
On October 8, HYBE x Geffen confirmed that the Filipina-American singer would resume group activities during the first week of January 2027.
However, the agency clarified that Sophia would not participate in the North American leg of The Wildworld Tour or promotional activities throughout the remainder of 2026.
The decision means fans will have to wait until the new year to see her return to official group activities.
KATSEYE Continues as Four Members
Sophia isn’t the only member currently absent from the group’s activities. Manon Bannerman began her own health-related hiatus in February, and no official return date has been announced.
Consequently, Lara, Daniela, Megan and Yoonchae have continued representing KATSEYE as a four-member lineup.
The group recently performed at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and is continuing its North American tour, with scheduled stops extending into November.
Meanwhile, KATSEYE’s documentary Wild Hearts arrived on Disney+ and Hulu on October 16, offering another look at the group’s growing international career.
Sophia’s confirmed return provides welcome clarity about the group’s immediate future. However, a complete six-member reunion remains unconfirmed until further information about Manon’s activities becomes available.
