Prabhas’ Fauzi Locks Clash With Ajay Devgn’s Ranger

Prabhas is heading back to the action space with Fauzi, and the makers have now officially locked its theatrical release. The pan-India action drama is set to arrive in cinemas on December 3, 2026, with a striking new poster that immediately grabbed fans’ attention. The latest artwork features the actor covered in blood while gripping a gun, teasing a darker and more intense role that many believe suits him best after the disappointing theatrical run of The Raja Saab.

The release date announcement has instantly sparked conversations because Fauzi is now on course for one of the biggest box office face-offs of the year. If the schedules remain unchanged, Prabhas will go head-to-head with Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt’s Ranger, which is slated to hit theatres just a day later on December 4, 2026. With both films targeting a similar mass audience, the first weekend of December is shaping up to become one of the busiest frames on the release calendar.

December Set for a High-Stakes Box Office Battle

The opening weekend of December has delivered several massive hits for Indian cinema over the past few years. Films like Animal in 2023, Pushpa 2 in 2024 and Dhurandhar in 2025 all turned the period into a lucrative window for big-ticket releases. That successful track record makes the upcoming clash even more interesting, as both productions will be aiming to capitalize on the same holiday momentum.

Ranger has been in production since March 2025 and brings together Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt in a jungle adventure centered around wildlife conservation. Ajay Devgn plays a forest officer fighting against animal poaching, while Sanjay Dutt steps into the antagonist’s role. Tamannaah Bhatia is also part of the film, which is directed by Mission Mangal filmmaker Jagan Shakti and produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg.

Although neither production house has hinted at changing its release plans, industry watchers will be closely monitoring the situation in the coming months. A direct clash between two large-scale commercial entertainers could divide screens across several markets, making theatre allocation and opening weekend collections an important factor for both films.

Hanu Raghavapudi Brings Prabhas Back to Action

Apart from Prabhas, Fauzi features Imanvi in a leading role alongside veteran performers Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Bhanu Chander and Jayapradha. The film is directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, who earned widespread appreciation for Sita Ramam. With his reputation for blending emotional storytelling with visually rich filmmaking, expectations are naturally high for his first collaboration with the pan-India superstar.

The project is backed by Mythri Movie Makers, one of the country’s most successful production houses in recent years. Music has been composed by Vishal Chandrasekhar, who reunites with Hanu Raghavapudi after their previous collaborations. Fans are now waiting for the first teaser to get a better look at the film’s story and action, but the newly released poster has already succeeded in building anticipation for what could become one of Prabhas’ biggest releases in the coming year.
