Rashmika Mandanna has finally broken her silence after weeks of staying away from social media, revealing that a painful injury forced her to step back from work. The actor, who had reportedly been injured while filming her upcoming action thriller Mysaa, confirmed that she is currently recovering at home and shared details of the accident for the first time. While reassuring fans that she is doing well, Rashmika admitted the setback has also become a reminder to take better care of her health after pushing herself through multiple injuries.
Her heartfelt Instagram post quickly drew thousands of reactions from fans and fellow celebrities, many of whom wished her a speedy recovery. Along with the update, the actor also shared glimpses of her recovery routine, offering followers a more personal look at life away from film sets.
Rashmika Explains What Happened During Mysaa Shoot
Sharing a series of photos from home, Rashmika posted cheerful selfies, moments with her pet dogs, puzzle sessions, desserts, and gifts sent by well-wishers. In the caption, she explained that she had initially hoped to keep the injury private but eventually decided to update fans after reports about the incident surfaced.
She wrote, “Hie guyssss! Injuries suck.. and I was really hoping that no one will get to know.. but well. Sorry I’ve been MIA but hieeee! I’m hereeee! It happened awhile ago ya and this is my 3rd injury back to back.. I should definitely learn to treat my body like a human body and not some machine..”
The actor then described the nature of the injury, explaining that one of the tendons connecting her hip to her leg had detached while filming a dance sequence for Mysaa. She said, “But well umm the injury is basically.. ummm how do I explain it.. (make way for the biology teacher) so there are 4 tendons on each side of your hip that connects your hip to your leg and one of those tendons on my right hip apparently had detached and that has to attach again, for me to be able to lift my leg up and stuff.. and this happened during my dance shoot for Mysaa.. my god that’s the most aggressive film I’ve ever done for sure!”
‘It Hurts but It’s Not Unbearable’
Despite the seriousness of the injury, Rashmika assured fans that her recovery is progressing well and that the pain remains manageable. She also joked that perhaps the forced break was the only way she would ever agree to slow down after years of maintaining an intense work schedule.
She wrote, “But don’t worry.. it hurts but it’s not unbearable or something.. so ya that’s that.. and I feel like this is god saying you’ll never take a break if it’s left to you so here.. let me do it for you! You know all these injuries I’ve had is random af – freak accidents what are the odds. Forced holiday – but hey not complaining at all! I’ve been doing a lot of puzzles – had no idea I were this good with them..”
The actor also admitted that being unable to exercise has been one of the most difficult parts of her recovery. Explaining how her routine has changed, Rashmika shared, “Really really trying not to put on weight cz well I workout and run like a beast which keeps me in a decent shape and now I won’t be able to workout or run for awhile and if I can’t workout then what do I doooo.. I eat.. and I become a dessert monster.. so uh hoooo! Well that’s about it.. what else did I miss.. nothing na.. if anything I’ll update soon. Love ya! Don’t worry ok.. Biggest loves and kisses and hugs!”
Mysaa Marks Rashmika’s Biggest Action Challenge Yet
The injury occurred during the filming of Mysaa, an emotional action thriller directed by Rawindra Pulle and produced by Unformula Films. Set against the backdrop of tribal lands, the film marks Rashmika Mandanna’s first female-led pan-India action project and is expected to showcase the actor in one of the most physically demanding roles of her career.
The production has already generated attention for attempting what the makers describe as India’s first female-led underwater fight sequence, highlighting the physically intense nature of the film. The first-look poster, unveiled last year, presented Rashmika in a fierce and blood-soaked avatar, signaling a dramatic departure from many of her earlier roles.
Apart from Mysaa, Rashmika was recently seen in Cocktail 2, directed by Homi Adajania and co-starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. While the romantic drama received mixed critical reviews, it performed well commercially by earning more than ₹140 crore worldwide. As Rashmika continues her recovery, fans will now be waiting for further updates on both her health and the release schedule of Mysaa, which is expected to arrive in theatres later this year.
