Yash appears to be trading box-office numbers for sea views, at least for a few days.
Radhika Pandit shared new photographs from a family getaway on Wednesday, September 23, showing herself, Yash and their children Ayra and Yatharv spending time near the beach. In one picture, Radhika cycles alongside Yatharv while Yash and Ayra follow behind. The family has not disclosed where they are vacationing.
“Quiet enough to hear the waves. Loud enough to remember each moment..,” Radhika captioned the post.
The relaxed family update comes at an interesting point for Yash. Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, his first theatrical release after KGF: Chapter 2, opened enormously in August but struggled to maintain that momentum over the following weeks.
Toxic started huge, but the momentum disappeared quickly
Calling Toxic a film that simply “failed at the box office” misses part of the story.
The Geetu Mohandas-directed gangster drama opened on August 26 with an estimated ₹101.10 crore net in India, according to Sacnilk. Its first week reached approximately ₹239.30 crore net, showing just how much initial demand existed for Yash’s return.
The problem came afterward.
By Day 22, Toxic was at approximately ₹249.49 crore net in India and ₹341.52 crore worldwide, according to figures reported by The Times of India. That means the film’s overall domestic total barely moved beyond its first-week performance once the opening rush faded.
That slowdown matters because Toxic was mounted as a major pan-Indian event film. Published reports have placed its production cost at around ₹500 crore or even higher, although the filmmakers have not publicly confirmed an official final budget, so those estimates should not be treated as definitive.
The more defensible conclusion is simpler: Toxic delivered a blockbuster-sized opening but did not sustain the theatrical legs expected from a film of its reported scale.
The vacation offers a quieter post-Toxic moment
None of that appears in Radhika’s post itself.
There is no mention of Toxic, box-office performance or Yash’s next move. The photographs are simply a glimpse of the family cycling and spending time together by the sea. Fans responded particularly to the customized bicycles carrying the family members’ initials and to seeing Yash away from film promotions and production.
The timing nevertheless makes the photographs notable. Yash spent years preparing his first theatrical project after the enormous success of KGF: Chapter 2, with Toxic carrying expectations that would have been difficult for almost any film to satisfy.
The movie also represented a substantial creative shift. Directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced by KVN Productions and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, Toxic brought together Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, Tara Sutaria and Huma Qureshi around Yash’s central performance.
For now, though, Yash’s public life looks considerably less complicated: bicycles, family and a beach whose location the Pandits are keeping to themselves.
And after one of the most intensely watched theatrical runs of his career, that may be exactly the point.
