The conversation around Yash may currently be dominated by Toxic and its sharp box-office slowdown, but the actor does not need to wait long for his next major screen appearance.
His post-Toxic slate already includes one of Indian cinema’s biggest upcoming productions: Nitesh Tiwari’s two-part Ramayana. Beyond that, Rocky Bhai remains somewhere on the horizon, with director Prashanth Neel recently providing his clearest update yet on KGF: Chapter 3.
What Yash doesn’t currently have is a long list of officially announced starring vehicles. That appears deliberate. His confirmed slate is relatively small, but every project is enormous.
Ramayana is Yash’s immediate next movie
The next confirmed Yash film is Ramayana: Part One, where he plays Ravana opposite Ranbir Kapoor’s Rama and Sai Pallavi’s Sita.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the two-part adaptation is scheduled to begin its theatrical run in November 2026, with the second chapter following in 2027. Prime Focus Studios officially lists Yash alongside Kapoor, Pallavi, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana.
It represents a substantial change from both Rocky in KGF and the gangster world of Toxic. Instead of playing another conventional mass-action protagonist, Yash is taking on Ravana, one of the central figures in the Ramayana.
He is also much more than a cast member.
Yash’s Monster Mind Creations is co-producing the two-film project with Prime Focus Studios, meaning his next major release continues the producer-actor strategy he embraced with Toxic. Prime Focus first announced his production involvement in 2024, and the company has since positioned the adaptation as a globally aimed IMAX production.
That makes Ramayana particularly important to understanding where Yash appears to be taking his career. He is increasingly attaching himself to projects not only as their star but as someone involved in building them.
Ramayana Part Two keeps him busy through 2027
Ramayana is not a one-film commitment.
The project was designed from the beginning as a two-part story, with Part One arriving in 2026 and Ramayana: Part Two scheduled for 2027.
For Yash, that means Ravana could remain his most visible role well beyond the immediate aftermath of Toxic. The first film establishes the conflict, while the second chapter is naturally expected to move deeper into the confrontation between Rama and Ravana.
Yash has also been actively involved in presenting the project internationally. He joined producer Namit Malhotra at CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas, where he discussed the approach to portraying Ravana for contemporary audiences.
So even if Toxic did not sustain the theatrical momentum expected after its huge opening, Yash’s next release is not a hastily assembled comeback project. Ramayana has already been years in development and production.
KGF 3 is real — but don’t expect it immediately
Then there is the movie almost every Yash fan eventually asks about: KGF: Chapter 3.
There is finally something more concrete than the tease attached to KGF: Chapter 2.
Earlier this month, Prashanth Neel said the third film will happen and that its screenplay is already ready.
“KGF 3 will definitely happen. The screenplay is already ready. That is why we said at the end of KGF: Chapter 2 that KGF 3 would come. We have a few things to sort out, and Yash also needs to make time,” Neel said.
That final part is important.
A completed screenplay does not mean KGF 3 is entering production now. Neel has his own busy directing schedule, while Yash has Ramayana commitments. No filming start or theatrical release date for the third KGF movie has been officially announced.
So the safest way to describe the project today is: confirmed creatively, but not scheduled.
Is Toxic 2 happening?
Despite discussion generated by Toxic’s ending, there is currently no publicly confirmed Toxic Part 2.
Neither Yash nor the filmmakers had announced a direct sequel following the movie’s August release, so it would be premature to place another Toxic movie on his confirmed slate.
That leaves Yash with a surprisingly clear path after Toxic: first Ravana in two Ramayana films, and eventually—once schedules align—a return to the role that transformed his career.
The larger shift may be happening behind the camera as well. Through Monster Mind Creations, Yash has now helped mount Toxic and Ramayana, suggesting that his post-KGF career is becoming as much about choosing and producing large-scale projects as simply starring in them.
For fans waiting specifically for Rocky Bhai, patience is still required. But Yash disappearing for another four years after Toxic does not appear to be part of the plan.
