SSeason 34 of Dancing With the Stars is almost ready for its final bow, but before the mirrorball is handed over, the couples stepped onto the floor to honor the legendary Prince. Tuesday’s semi-finals brought a vibrant, purple-hued tribute as each duo performed two competitive routines — one familiar ballroom style from earlier in the season and one brand-new dance style — all set to Prince’s iconic music.

But the celebration ended on an emotional note when Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas were eliminated, shocking fans and judges alike. The pair had been one of the most consistent performers all season, making their exit one of the night’s biggest surprises.

The Semi-Final Lineup

The episode opened with the remaining group:

  • social media favorite Alix Earle,
  • Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles,
  • The Traitors season three winner Dylan Efron,
  • actress Elaine Hendrix,
  • conservationist Robert Irwin,
  • and Whitney Leavitt, who ultimately left the competition at the end of the night.

The stakes couldn’t have been higher, with the finale scheduled for November 25 — a three-hour showdown featuring judges’ choice dances, instant choreography, and the fan-favorite freestyle round. Only five couples made it past Prince Night and into the final stretch.

A Surprise in the Audience

One sweet moment came from the stands: Zac Efron attended his first live taping to cheer on his brother Dylan, which instantly became one of the most talked-about sightings of the night.

Who Dominated Prince Night?

Robert Irwin and Witney Carson made a big statement early on, earning the only perfect 30/30 in the first round.
Round 2 saw three couples reach perfection — Alix Earle, Elaine Hendrix, and Jordan Chiles, with Elaine and Jordan celebrating their very first flawless scores this season.

When both dances were tallied, Robert and Witney held on to the top spot with 59 points, making them the night’s highest scorers and solid contenders for the mirrorball.

Momentum From Last Week

The previous episode — celebrating the show’s 20th birthday — featured Tom Bergeron’s debut as guest judge and four solo perfect scores from Robert & Witney, Dylan & Daniella, Alix & Val, and Whitney & Mark. But consistency wasn’t enough to save Whitney Leavitt this week, proving again how crucial viewer votes are in the final stretch.
