Spider-Man: Brand New Day may have witnessed the usual weekday slowdown, but there is little sign of the film losing its grip on Indian audiences. After rewriting the record books with a historic opening weekend, the Marvel blockbuster added another solid day at the ticket window on Monday. While the collections naturally dipped after three massive days, the Tom Holland starrer remains comfortably ahead of every other release currently playing in cinemas. With its latest earnings, the film is now closing in on the ₹350 crore gross milestone in India, a feat that looked inevitable after its explosive debut.

The superhero spectacle has enjoyed exceptional momentum since release, driven by strong word of mouth, premium format bookings, and the enduring popularity of Spider-Man among Indian moviegoers. Even with weekday business settling into a more predictable pattern, the film continues to attract audiences across multiple languages. That consistency suggests the blockbuster still has plenty of fuel left in its theatrical run.

Monday brings expected slowdown

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Spider-Man: Brand New Day earned ₹23.80 crore net in India on its fifth day. The film was screened across 16,874 shows, reflecting the massive scale of its nationwide release. Monday’s earnings marked a 69.4 percent decline compared to Sunday’s outstanding ₹77.75 crore net, but such a fall is considered normal after an unusually strong opening weekend.

The English version once again led the collections by contributing ₹12.50 crore net, highlighting the continued strength of Marvel’s original-language audience in India. The Hindi dubbed version followed with an estimated ₹8.75 crore net, while the Tamil and Telugu versions added around ₹1.50 crore and ₹1 crore, respectively. The film’s performance across languages has helped it maintain healthy occupancy despite the arrival of the working week.

With Monday’s business included, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has now collected ₹281.75 crore net in India. Its overall gross collection stands at approximately ₹336.91 crore, putting the film within touching distance of the ₹350 crore mark. If weekday collections remain steady before the next weekend boost, that milestone could arrive sooner than expected.

Record-breaking opening set the pace

The film’s incredible box office journey began with a phenomenal ₹60.60 crore net opening on July 30, instantly establishing a new benchmark for Hollywood releases in India. It continued its momentum by earning ₹49.35 crore on Friday, taking just two days to cross the ₹100 crore net milestone. Weekend growth then pushed the film into record territory, with Saturday delivering ₹70.25 crore net before Sunday’s ₹77.75 crore net became its biggest single-day collection so far.

Those numbers helped Spider-Man: Brand New Day achieve the biggest opening weekend ever recorded by a Hollywood film in India. Saturday’s collections jumped by roughly 42 percent over Friday, while Sunday’s performance created another benchmark by becoming the highest single-day collection ever for a Hollywood release in the country. Such sustained growth over the weekend demonstrated that audience demand extended well beyond opening-day excitement.

The impressive start has also strengthened the film’s chances of becoming one of Marvel’s biggest theatrical successes in the Indian market. Premium large-format screens, repeat viewings, and strong family attendance have all contributed to its remarkable run. Unless a major competitor significantly impacts its business, the superhero adventure is expected to remain one of the country’s top-performing films in the coming days.

Peter Parker begins a new chapter

Set four years after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the latest installment follows Peter Parker as he adjusts to a life where the people closest to him no longer remember who he is. Having sacrificed his personal relationships to protect the multiverse, Peter now lives in complete anonymity while continuing to defend New York as Spider-Man. That emotional isolation becomes one of the film’s strongest themes as he struggles to balance heroism with the loneliness that follows his life-changing decision.

The story introduces fresh threats that test Peter both physically and emotionally, forcing him to confront one of the biggest challenges of his superhero journey. Alongside spectacular action sequences, the film explores identity, responsibility, and the consequences of sacrifice, giving audiences a more mature chapter in the character’s evolution. The combination of emotional storytelling and large-scale Marvel action has resonated strongly with fans worldwide.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the film is produced by Columbia Pictures, Marvel Studios, and Pascal Pictures. The ensemble cast features Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, and Florence Pugh, bringing together familiar faces and exciting new additions to the Spider-Man universe.
