Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part 1, starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Yash as Ravana, has crossed the ₹50 crore mark in domestic advance bookings ahead of its theatrical release on November 5. The mythological epic is witnessing strong ticket sales just days before its arrival in cinemas, with the Diwali festive period adding to expectations surrounding its opening.
According to Variety India’s November 2 report, the film has collected approximately ₹54 crore in domestic advance bookings across its first three days, with the potential to move closer to ₹75 crore before release. The latest figures indicate a strong pre-release response for one of the year’s most anticipated Indian films.
The film has reportedly sold more than 6.27 lakh tickets for its opening day alone, generating around ₹26.50 crore in advance sales. Its second and third days have also recorded substantial bookings, contributing to the growing pre-release total.
Hindi Version Leads Across Indian Markets
The Hindi version is driving the majority of the film’s domestic advance sales, with Kannada and Telugu versions also contributing to the numbers. The National Capital Region, Mumbai and Bengaluru have emerged as important markets for the film.
The strong response across multiple language versions reflects the pan-India scale of the project. With a story rooted in the Indian epic and a cast featuring actors from different film industries, Ramayana is targeting audiences beyond the Hindi-speaking market.
The film’s premium-format screenings are also expected to play a role in its theatrical performance, particularly as audiences look to experience its large-scale visuals on the big screen.
Ranbir Kapoor and Yash Lead the Two-Part Epic
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Part 1 features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita and Yash as Ravana. The ensemble cast also includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Arun Govil as King Dashrath and several other prominent actors.
The film is planned as a two-part cinematic adaptation, with the first instalment arriving this Diwali and the second expected in 2027. Its November 5 release places it directly in the festive box-office window, traditionally one of the busiest periods for Indian cinema.
What the Advance Booking Numbers Mean
Crossing ₹50 crore in pre-sales gives Ramayana: Part 1 a strong position heading into its opening weekend. However, advance bookings alone do not determine the film’s final box-office performance. Audience reactions, word of mouth and the number of additional tickets sold after release will be crucial in shaping its theatrical run.
With three days remaining before its theatrical debut, the focus now shifts to whether the film can continue its booking momentum and translate the early interest into a massive opening.
