Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar is no longer just another box office success story — it’s now brushing shoulders with Indian cinema’s biggest global giants. Even after a month in theatres, Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller continues to rewrite records, inching dangerously close to SS Rajamouli’s RRR on the all-time worldwide charts.

A milestone week despite the slowdown

Day 32 marked the first real breather for Dhurandhar at the global box office. The film saw a sharp dip — around 65% domestically and over 60% overseas — pushing its daily worldwide earnings below ₹10 crore for the first time since release. Still, the slowdown hasn’t derailed its larger run.

According to trade estimates, Dhurandhar has now collected ₹776–777 crore net in India, translating to nearly ₹932 crore gross domestically. The makers, Jio Studios, have gone a step further, claiming the film has already crossed ₹800 crore net in India, a first for a Bollywood production.

Overseas surprise without the Middle East

What makes Dhurandhar’s overseas performance even more striking is the absence of a Middle East release — traditionally one of the strongest markets for Indian films. Despite that, the film has amassed over $31 million overseas, placing it among the top 15 highest-grossing Indian films internationally.

In the process, it has overtaken the overseas lifetime collections of heavyweights like Sultan and Pushpa 2: The Rule. Distributors believe the numbers could have comfortably crossed $40 million had the film opened in the Gulf.

Worldwide total puts RRR in sight

With overseas and domestic numbers combined, Dhurandhar’s worldwide gross now stands at approximately ₹1,215 crore. That puts it just a short step behind RRR, which wrapped up its historic run at around ₹1,230 crore globally. Trade circles expect Dhurandhar to surpass that figure within the next couple of days, provided weekday holds remain steady.

The film and its franchise future

Directed by Uri filmmaker Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar features Ranveer Singh as Hamza, an undercover Indian operative navigating terror networks across Karachi. The ensemble cast includes Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and R Madhavan, all of whom have been widely praised for their performances.

With a sequel already announced for March 2026, the franchise appears set for long-term expansion — a rare feat for an original Bollywood spy property outside established cinematic universes.

Final words

Even with fatigue setting in during its fifth week, Dhurandhar’s box office run remains extraordinary. Crossing ₹1,200 crore worldwide without full overseas access places it in rare company — and if it does edge past RRR, it won’t just be a numerical win, but a defining moment for mainstream Hindi cinema on the global stage.
