The controversy around Ranveer Singh and Don 3 is getting messier with every passing day, but now singer Mika Singh has openly come out in support of the actor after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees issued a non-cooperation directive against him. While Ranveer himself has stayed unusually silent through the entire situation, several people from the Hindi film industry have slowly started reacting to the matter, and Mika seems to be one of the first celebrities speaking directly in his favour.
The issue exploded after reports claimed Ranveer walked away from Don 3 only weeks before filming was expected to begin. According to industry chatter, Excel Entertainment had already invested heavily into pre-production work including location planning, scheduling, and crew arrangements. The sudden exit reportedly caused major financial damage to the production house, leading Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s company to approach industry bodies for support. Soon after that, FWICE announced a non-cooperation directive against the actor, creating massive discussion across Bollywood circles.
Mika Singh Says Ranveer Is A Genuine Person
Reacting to the controversy, Mika Singh told paparazzo Viral Bhayani that Ranveer Singh is one of the nicest people he has met in the industry. The singer described Ranveer as grounded and respectful despite his massive stardom, and even said he personally plans to speak with FWICE members regarding the issue. Mika added that he shares a close understanding with the federation and hopes conversations can help calm things down.
Interestingly, Mika Singh knows exactly how these industry bans work because he himself faced a similar situation back in 2019. At the time, the singer was banned by FWICE and boycotted by the All India Cine Workers Association after videos surfaced online showing him performing at a wedding event in Karachi, Pakistan. The controversy became huge because the performance happened during a politically sensitive period shortly after the Article 370 decision.
Mika later apologised publicly and admitted the timing of his visit was wrong. He clarified that he had legally travelled after receiving a visa and said he never intended to hurt public sentiments. After meetings with concerned authorities and film bodies, the ban on him was eventually lifted within a week. Because of that past experience, many feel Mika understands the pressure Ranveer may currently be facing behind closed doors.
What Exactly Happened Between Ranveer Singh And Don 3?
Reports suggest the tension began after Ranveer Singh allegedly stepped away from Don 3 following the release of Dhurandhar in 2025. Industry insiders claim the actor wanted to move ahead with his next project Pralay instead, while the Don franchise producers had already locked several expensive preparations for the film. Sources connected to the matter claim Excel Entertainment suffered losses estimated around Rs 40-45 crore because of the sudden disruption.
However, the situation remains complicated because FWICE advisor Ashoke Pandit later clarified that the organisation technically cannot “ban” any actor officially since it is not a legal authority or court. Still, a non-cooperation directive from such an influential industry body can create uncomfortable complications for any actor working within Bollywood production systems.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh’s team finally released a carefully worded statement after days of speculation online. The statement mentioned that the actor continues to have deep respect for the film fraternity and everyone associated with the Don franchise. His team also explained that Ranveer intentionally chose silence throughout the controversy because he believes professional disagreements should be handled privately with dignity instead of becoming public drama.
The statement further added that many rumours and narratives have surfaced around the issue, but Ranveer never wanted to contribute to speculation by reacting emotionally in public. According to his team, the actor remains focused on his upcoming projects and continues to wish success for Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, and the entire Don franchise moving forward. So far, Excel Entertainment has not made any fresh public comments regarding FWICE’s latest move or Ranveer’s response.
