Possible Love Final Trailer Explores Secrets and Desire

Netflix has unveiled the final trailer for Possible Love, the highly anticipated Korean drama from acclaimed filmmaker Lee Chang-dong. Starring Jeon Do-yeon, Sul Kyung-gu, Zo In-sung and Cho Yeo-jeong, the film explores two marriages complicated by emotional struggles, social inequality and desires that remain difficult to acknowledge.

Released on October 20, 2026, the trailer offers a deeper look at the characters ahead of the film’s November 6 global Netflix premiere.

Possible Love Final Trailer Reveals Emotional Conflicts

The trailer opens with Mi-ok (Jeon Do-yeon) singing “All I Know is Love,” seemingly cheerful despite the sadness beneath her expression.

Her husband, Ho-seok (Sul Kyung-gu), has struggled emotionally since losing his job, leaving their marriage weighed down by financial uncertainty and unresolved feelings.

Their lives change when they encounter Ye-ji (Cho Yeo-jeong), a documentary filmmaker researching laid-off workers, and her wealthy husband, Sang-woo (Zo In-sung).

Mi-ok agrees to participate in Ye-ji’s documentary, gradually developing a personal connection with the filmmaker.

However, the relationship becomes increasingly complicated as Mi-ok encounters a lifestyle dramatically different from her own.

The trailer shows Mi-ok breaking down during filming, while Ye-ji appears visibly affected by her confession.

Later, Ye-ji suggests that both couples take a vacation together, setting the stage for further emotional complications.

Lee Chang-dong Returns After Eight Years

Possible Love marks Lee Chang-dong’s first feature film since the critically acclaimed Burning in 2018.

Known for emotionally complex dramas including Secret Sunshine and Poetry, the filmmaker once again examines how personal relationships intersect with broader social pressures.

One particularly interesting element is the documentary itself. Ye-ji initially approaches Mi-ok’s family as subjects for her project, but their developing friendship raises questions about emotional boundaries and the unequal power between filmmaker and subject.

The contrast between the couples suggests that the film explores not only romantic relationships but also how financial circumstances influence dignity, intimacy and personal choices.

Possible Love Arrives on Netflix in November

The film has already received significant international recognition, winning the Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize at the 2026 Venice Film Festival.

South Korea has also selected Possible Love as its official submission for Best International Feature Film at the 99th Academy Awards. The selection does not yet mean it has secured an Oscar nomination.

Following its festival appearances, the film will receive a limited theatrical release in several international markets on October 23 before streaming globally on Netflix on November 6.

With its accomplished ensemble and focus on complicated human relationships, Possible Love promises a character-driven drama in which the smallest emotional decisions could carry considerable consequences.
