A 33-year-old businessman from Bengaluru was found dead at the residence of Kannada actor and former Bigg Boss Kannada contestant Krishi Thapanda, prompting an ongoing police investigation. Authorities have registered a case of unnatural death and are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident, which took place on the night of June 24 at the actor’s home in RR Nagar.
According to initial reports, the deceased, identified as Vaishak, was alone inside the apartment when the incident occurred. Police officials have stated that no suicide note or video message was recovered from the scene, and the investigation is continuing to determine the sequence of events.
Police begin investigation after messages reportedly sent to actor
According to a report by The Hindu, Vaishak, a resident of Girinagar, had been staying in an apartment in RR Nagar for the past few days. Investigators said he was found at Krishi Thapanda’s residence after family members and authorities were alerted.
Reports suggest that before the incident, Vaishak allegedly tried to contact Krishi Thapanda by phone. At the time, she was reportedly away in Nelamangala and was unable to answer his call. It has also been reported that he later sent her messages indicating that he intended to take his own life.
After noticing those messages, the actor reportedly informed Vaishak’s family members, who rushed to the apartment. However, by the time they reached the residence, he had already been found dead. Following a complaint filed by his father, police registered a case of unnatural death and have begun a detailed investigation.
Officials have not disclosed whether any additional evidence has been recovered, and they have not announced any conclusions regarding the cause or circumstances of the death. The investigation remains ongoing.
Vaishak had previously been named in another police case
Reports indicate that Vaishak had earlier come under police scrutiny in an alleged extortion and criminal intimidation case. Earlier this year, he was arrested after businessman Aravind Reddy reportedly filed a complaint claiming he had received a threatening letter demanding several crores of rupees.
The letter was allegedly delivered through a courier service and warned of serious consequences if the money was not paid. Based on the complaint, police registered a case and arrested Vaishak, who was later released on bail. Authorities have not indicated whether that earlier case has any connection to the current investigation.
Investigators are now examining all relevant aspects, including recent communications and available evidence, before drawing any conclusions. Police have urged the public to avoid speculation while the inquiry is in progress.
