Ajay Devgn has a new box-office record, and it belongs to Vijay Salgaonkar. Drishyam: The Conclusion has become the actor’s highest-grossing film worldwide, collecting approximately ₹407 crore in just eight days. The crime thriller has overtaken the lifetime earnings of Singham Again and Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, establishing a new career benchmark even before completing its second weekend.
According to Sacnilk, the Abhishek Pathak directorial earned ₹260 crore net in India through October 9, with domestic gross collections reaching ₹312 crore. Overseas markets contributed another ₹95 crore, pushing the worldwide total past ₹400 crore. The film also showed encouraging momentum on its second Friday, collecting ₹14.50 crore, an 11.5% increase from Thursday.
Drishyam 3 Beats Singham Again and Tanhaji Worldwide
The film’s biggest achievement is overtaking two of Devgn’s most successful theatrical releases. Singham Again previously led his worldwide box-office rankings with approximately ₹372.50 crore, followed by Tanhaji at ₹368.75 crore.
At ₹407 crore, Drishyam 3 has already surpassed both films, making it Devgn’s first worldwide ₹400 crore grosser.
Its performance also demonstrates how significantly the Drishyam franchise has grown. Drishyam 2 earned approximately ₹342 crore worldwide during its entire theatrical run, a figure the concluding instalment has comfortably exceeded within eight days.
The domestic comparison is equally interesting. Tanhaji previously held Devgn’s India net record at ₹277.75 crore. Drishyam 3 stood at ₹260 crore after Friday, but Saturday’s live tracking had already pushed its domestic net collection above ₹280 crore by the evening of October 10.
However, Saturday’s final figures were still pending, so the domestic record should be considered provisional until the completed collection is reported.
Can Drishyam 3 Reach ₹500 Crore Worldwide?
With ₹407 crore already collected, Drishyam 3 needs another ₹93 crore to reach the ₹500 crore worldwide milestone.
That target appears achievable if the thriller maintains momentum through its second weekend and continues attracting audiences during the following week. However, the film experienced a noticeable weekday slowdown after its impressive ₹176.50 crore opening weekend, making its Saturday and Sunday performance particularly important.
The success is also notable because Drishyam relies on suspense, family drama and the popularity of Vijay Salgaonkar rather than the large-scale action associated with Devgn’s Singham franchise.
For Devgn, the worldwide record is no longer a prediction. Drishyam: The Conclusion has already become his biggest global box-office success. Whether it can extend that achievement to ₹500 crore will depend on how strongly the film holds in the coming days.
