Jennifer Lopez Announces New Song ‘Proof of Love’

Jennifer Lopez is preparing to return with new music, and her upcoming song “Proof of Love” will pair an upbeat dance sound with a more emotional message about love and loss. In an exclusive interview with Variety, the singer described the track as a celebration of love that also recognises the pain of being separated from someone important.

“It’s really a beautiful song about this kind of duality,” Lopez said. “It’s this happy dance song, and these are the things that are the proof of love. One of them is pain and grief when someone’s gone. You feel pain and grief. That’s really proof of love.”

The song will appear as a bonus track on the first-ever vinyl release of her 2011 album Love?, which is being reissued in three editions in November 2026. Pre-orders began on October 28.

Jennifer Lopez Finds Inspiration as Her Twins Leave for College

Lopez revealed that her return to the recording studio was partly inspired by a major change in her personal life: her twins, Max and Emme, leaving home for college.

“They take up such a big part of your brain for so long, and when they’re gone, which is devastating and sad and scary, you’re facing a life that’s totally different now, and you’re like, ‘What am I going to do with this space and this time?’” she told Variety.

Rather than treating that transition only as a difficult adjustment, Lopez channelled the emotions into songwriting. She said the experience helped inspire what she described as some of the best songs she has written.

“It’s a very happy era album,” she added, describing the new material as joyful and beautiful, with “just a tad of a tear in them.”

Lopez also explained that she wanted “Proof of Love” to make grief feel less devastating and more like a meaningful reminder of the connection behind it.

‘Proof of Love’ Leads a New Musical Chapter

Although “Proof of Love” is arriving through the Love? vinyl reissue, Lopez hinted that more new music is on the way. She teased “a couple of others that are super fun and cunty for my gays,” suggesting that her upcoming material will include playful tracks alongside more reflective songs.

Originally released in 2011, Love? was Lopez’s seventh studio album. It featured major hits including “On the Floor,” her dance-pop collaboration with Pitbull, as well as “I’m Into You” featuring Lil Wayne and “Papi.”

The new vinyl editions give fans a fresh way to revisit the album while adding previously unreleased material. The release also arrives ahead of The JLo Show: Live in Vegas, her concert film scheduled to air on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on November 26, 2026.

With “Proof of Love,” Lopez is connecting a familiar dance-floor sound with the changing emotions of adulthood and family life. The song’s central idea is that grief can reflect the depth of a bond rather than simply its absence.
