Veteran actor Shakti Kapoor has weighed in on the ongoing chatter around his daughter Shraddha Kapoor’s career choices — and his comments have quickly caught attention. Addressing claims that Shraddha appears less frequently on screen compared to contemporaries like Alia Bhatt and Ananya Panday, Shakti Kapoor made it clear: it’s a matter of choice, not lack of work.

“She Does Fewer Films, But Charges More”

In a recent conversation on a YouTube channel, Shakti Kapoor explained that Shraddha prefers doing one or two films a year, focusing only on projects she truly believes in. According to him, that selectiveness also reflects in her remuneration.

He revealed that Shraddha charges more than her peers, adding that she is extremely clear about her values and follows a strict personal code when it comes to signing films. He described her as stubborn in the best way — someone who listens to her heart rather than industry pressure.

A Proud Father’s Perspective

Beyond box office numbers and comparisons, Shakti Kapoor spoke warmly about his bond with his daughter. He shared that they openly discuss films, sometimes argue, sometimes plan holidays — but above all, he deeply admires her work.

Calling Shraddha a “very fine actor,” he said her performances consistently stand out, and he takes immense pride in the career she has carved out on her own terms.

Why Shraddha Has Been Missing From Screens

After the massive success of Stree 2 in 2024, Shraddha has had no theatrical releases in 2025 — a gap that sparked speculation. However, she’s far from inactive.

Shraddha is currently shooting for Laxman Utekar’s Eetha, a biopic based on legendary Maharashtrian folk artist Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar. The film explores Maharashtra’s rich cultural legacy and the Tamasha art form from the 1950s to the 1980s.

For the role, Shraddha reportedly gained around 15 kilos and underwent intense training in traditional folk dances like Lavani and Gavlan, signalling a deeply immersive performance.

What’s Next

Apart from Eetha, Shraddha will return to the big screen with Stree 3, which is currently slated for an August 2027 release. Given the franchise’s popularity, expectations are already sky-high.

Final Words

Shraddha Kapoor’s career may not follow the rapid-release template, but as Shakti Kapoor makes clear, it’s a deliberate strategy — fewer films, bigger impact, and uncompromised values. In an industry obsessed with constant visibility, Shraddha seems content letting her work — and her choices — do the talking.
