As discussions continue over the non-cooperation directive issued by FWICE, leaders from the Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) have publicly come forward to stand by the actor.
The latest support comes from veteran actress and CINTAA Vice-President Padmini Kolhapure, who made it clear that the association considers Ranveer an important member and would support him whenever needed. Her remarks arrive at a time when the actor remains at the center of one of Bollywood’s most talked-about industry disputes.
While Padmini chose not to get deeply involved in the details of the controversy, she emphasized that CINTAA’s doors remain open for Ranveer Singh. The statement has been viewed as a significant show of support, particularly as debates continue across the industry regarding how the matter has been handled.
The development is also notable because it follows comments made by CINTAA president Poonam Dhillon, who recently questioned why the actors’ association was allegedly not consulted before FWICE’s decision became public.
CINTAA Questions How the Matter Was Handled
According to Poonam Dhillon, CINTAA only learned about the situation through media reports despite Ranveer being one of its members. She suggested that the association could have potentially acted as a mediator if it had been informed earlier and allowed to understand both sides of the dispute.
Dhillon also expressed discomfort with the term “ban” being used in connection with the actor. In her view, such language carries serious implications and may not accurately reflect the nature of the ongoing disagreement. She described Ranveer as a hardworking performer who built his career through determination and talent, noting that industry conflicts should ideally be resolved through discussion rather than public confrontation.
The comments from CINTAA leadership indicate that at least some members of the entertainment industry believe more dialogue is needed before conclusions are drawn. Their stance has added a new dimension to a controversy that has largely been dominated by discussions about contracts, financial losses, and professional commitments.
What Triggered the Don 3 Controversy?
The dispute reportedly began after Ranveer Singh allegedly stepped away from Don 3 shortly before the film was expected to begin production. The project, backed by Farhan Akhtar, had reportedly already entered advanced stages of preparation when news of the actor’s departure surfaced.
Following the reports, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) announced a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh on May 25. Industry reports suggested that concerns were raised over financial losses allegedly incurred by the production due to the actor’s exit. Some reports estimated those losses to be around ₹45 crore, though the matter remains under discussion.
However, FWICE president BN Tiwari has previously clarified that the federation’s intention is not to permanently blacklist the actor. Instead, the goal is reportedly to hear Ranveer’s version of events and work toward a resolution that satisfies all parties involved.
