Ajith Kumar’s next film, Daredevil, has officially launched in Chennai, bringing the Tamil superstar back to the big screen after his recent focus on motorsports. Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, the film marks the duo’s second collaboration following the success of Good Bad Ugly. The launch ceremony took place on November 2, with producer Shalini Ajith Kumar attending alongside several cast members, including Unni Mukundan and Sreeleela.
The project is being produced by Shalini under her newly launched banner, Bravehearts Production LLP. While Ajith was absent from the traditional puja ceremony, photographs and videos from the event offered a first glimpse of the film’s team as production got underway.
Unni Mukundan and Sreeleela Join the Cast
Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan, best known for Marco, and Telugu star Sreeleela were among the prominent names spotted at the launch. The event also featured Parthiban, Prabhu, Sunil and Redin Kingsley, although the makers have not yet officially detailed every actor’s role.
Unni Mukundan is reportedly set to play the antagonist, in a part initially written for Mohanlal. If confirmed, the role would place him opposite Ajith in what is expected to be a major action-oriented face-off. Sreeleela’s appearance marks another step in her expanding presence in Tamil cinema.
Anirudh Ravichander will compose the film’s music, continuing his association with Ajith after projects including Vedalam, Vivegam and Vidaamuyarchi.
Ajith and Adhik Ravichandran Reunite
Daredevil follows the success of Good Bad Ugly, the 2025 action entertainer that became Ajith’s highest-grossing film. The new project is also known as AK64, referring to its place in the actor’s filmography.
The technical team includes cinematographer Abinandhan Ramanujam, editor Vijay Velukutty and stunt choreographer Supreme Sundar. The film’s first-look poster previously showed Ajith in a white suit, with a dice motif in the title design hinting at chance and unpredictability.
Shalini’s New Chapter as Producer
The film marks Shalini’s first feature production under Bravehearts Production LLP, making the launch significant beyond Ajith’s return to acting. With a prominent cast and the director’s successful previous collaboration with the star, Daredevil enters production with considerable attention.
The makers have yet to announce a release date or reveal the full storyline. For now, the focus is on filming and the new cast combination assembled for Ajith and Adhik’s second outing.
