Kangana Shares Sita Photo, Says ‘My Aashirvad To All Liberals’

The release of Ramayana’s first trailer has sparked widespread conversations online, with much of the attention focused on Sai Pallavi’s portrayal of Sita. As fans debated the actor’s appearance and performance in the mythological epic’s first glimpse, Kangana Ranaut joined the conversation in her own way. Instead of directly commenting on the film, the actor and BJP MP shared a nostalgic childhood photograph in which she appeared dressed as Goddess Sita during a school performance.

The post quickly caught the attention of social media users, especially because it arrived just hours after discussions around Ramayana began dominating online platforms. Kangana also added a humorous caption that reflected her trademark social media style.

Kangana revisits her childhood role as Sita

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Kangana posted a throwback photograph from her school days. In the image, the actor is seen wearing a red sari while portraying Sita, standing beside another child dressed as Lord Ram. A third student, dressed as Hanuman, is seated near her feet, recreating a scene inspired by the Ramayana.

In a follow-up Story, Kangana zoomed in on her younger self, giving followers a closer look at the costume. She also added a playful caption that read, “My aashirvad to all liberals,” accompanied by laughing emojis.

Although Kangana did not directly reference Sai Pallavi or the newly released trailer, the timing of the post led many online users to connect it with the ongoing conversations surrounding Ramayana. The trailer has generated significant buzz as audiences shared their first impressions of the film’s cast, visual effects and character designs.

Ramayana trailer fuels conversations online

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is one of the most ambitious Indian film projects currently in production. The trailer introduced audiences to the film’s interpretation of several iconic characters, with Sai Pallavi’s appearance as Sita becoming one of the most discussed moments on social media.

Following the trailer’s release, viewers shared mixed opinions about various aspects of the film, including the actors’ looks and performances. Sai Pallavi’s portrayal, in particular, became a trending topic as fans and critics debated everything from her screen presence to her Hindi diction. Despite the online discussions, anticipation for the film remains high given its scale, cast and source material.

Kangana remains in the spotlight over recent remarks

Apart from her latest Instagram post, Kangana has been making headlines in recent days because of her comments on student protests. Sharing her views on social media earlier this week, the actor criticised videos from the demonstrations and expressed strong opinions about the behaviour shown in them.

“Never in my life, I have seen so much ugliness in one place. These reels from Gen Z protests are puke-inducing, the way they speak and the kind of language they are using. Never in my life have I seen everything in each and every frame so jarring and so crass all at once,” Kangana wrote.

She further added, “Ewwww, who is birthing and raising them? India is a place of diversely beautiful people, draped in elegance and rooted in cultural sophistication; you call yourselves cockroaches and look/behave like them as well; there is no paradox or juxtaposition there, just simply subjecting the world to your filth, garbage and ugliness. I am scarred from these reels, need some healing, digital detox.”

On the professional front, Kangana was last seen in Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, which released in theatres in June. Based on true events, the film tells the story of hospital workers who protected more than 400 patients during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks at Cama and Albless Hospital.

While Ramayana continues to dominate conversations across social media, Kangana’s nostalgic post has added another layer to the online buzz. Whether viewed as a light-hearted throwback or a playful response to the ongoing discussions, the childhood photograph has once again placed the actor at the centre of attention.
