Now, a revelation by private detective Tanya Puri has left many stunned. The investigator, who has handled several high-profile cases, recently opened up about one of her most shocking assignments — involving a popular female actor allegedly leading a secret double life.
Tanya shared the story during her recent appearance on Siddharth Kannan’s podcast, where she spoke about the “bizarre” nature of some of her cases. When asked if she could recall any from Bollywood that really stood out, Tanya immediately mentioned one case that she said “still shocks her to this day.”
“She is an actress who has been part of this industry for quite some time. She wasn’t getting much work at one point in her career, but her image in the industry is very clean and reputable. She is also romantically involved with someone, but that is all just for show,” Tanya revealed.
According to the detective, the actress maintained a picture-perfect public life — glamorous events, brand endorsements, and a steady relationship. But behind the scenes, she was living a completely different life. Tanya said that the actor had secretly started working as an escort, meeting high-profile clients and charging hefty amounts to maintain her lavish lifestyle.
“She meets people and charges money for her appearances. When we started monitoring her, we realised she was involved with multiple people,” Tanya said, adding that the entire operation was “very official,” with proper contracts and agreements drawn up between her and her clients.
The twist came when the actress’s partner — a man from outside the film industry — hired Tanya to investigate because he suspected she was cheating on him. Tanya and her team followed her movements for weeks before uncovering the truth.
Surprisingly, even after being presented with all the evidence, the man did not break off the relationship. Tanya said he wanted to talk to her privately and settle things behind closed doors rather than expose her.
“He never wanted to end things,” Tanya explained. “He told me he still wanted to be with her. The money coming in from her work was helping their lives and the joint business they were running together. He didn’t want to risk all that.”
Tanya added that such cases are not only complex but also demand extreme secrecy due to the reputations involved.
“These kinds of cases are very high-profile, and you have to maintain the highest level of confidentiality. You do that in all cases, but in Bollywood, there’s always more at stake,” she said.
According to her, the man decided against making the matter public because it could have destroyed both their careers. “He felt embarrassed, of course,” Tanya added. “But he was also practical. He knew that if this came out, it wouldn’t just ruin her — it would ruin him too.”
While Tanya didn’t name the actress or provide any identifying details, her story has stirred major conversations online about what really goes on behind Bollywood’s glitz and glamour. For many, it’s a reminder that the industry’s bright lights often hide some very dark realities.
“In this business,” Tanya concluded, “the image is everything — and some people will go to any lengths to protect it.”
