Hollywood veteran Kelsey Grammer, best known for his iconic role as Dr. Frasier Crane, has become a father once again — this time at the age of 70. The actor and his wife Kayte Walsh recently welcomed their fourth child together, a baby boy named Christopher.
The heartwarming news came straight from Grammer himself during an appearance on the Pod Meets World podcast. “We just had our fourth one, so it just became eight kids,” he revealed, adding that the little one had arrived “just three days ago.”
This marks the couple’s fourth child together and Grammer’s eighth overall. Kelsey and Kayte, who tied the knot in 2011, are already parents to Faith (born 2012), Gabriel (2014), and James (2016).
Grammer also has four other children from previous relationships — Spencer (born 1983) with Doreen Alderman, Greer (1992) with Barrie Buckner, and Mason (2001) and Jude (2004) with former wife Camille Grammer.
Despite his long and demanding career, the actor has been candid about fatherhood in recent interviews. Earlier this year, Grammer admitted that he felt he “neglected a couple of the kids” in his life, particularly the older ones, but shared that he’s now trying to be more present. “I’m just grateful for the chance to be a better dad this time around,” he said in a previous interview.
Known for his Emmy-winning performance in Cheers and Frasier, Grammer continues to balance his thriving career with family life. The actor recently reprised his beloved role in the Frasier reboot, proving that both on-screen and off, he’s still got plenty of energy to give.
At 70, becoming a dad again might seem unusual to some — but for Grammer, it’s just another chapter in a life filled with family, love, and second chances.
