A fresh storm has hit Bollywood. Actress-filmmaker Divya Khosla has publicly released an audio recording of her phone conversation with veteran producer Mukesh Bhatt, after he allegedly claimed in an interview that she “deliberately created controversy” around her film Savi and Alia Bhatt’s Jigra for publicity.
Divya, who strongly denied the allegation, says she was left “shocked” by the claim and felt compelled to put out the recording to show the truth.
What Triggered the Clash?
Divya’s film Savi was co-produced by her husband Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt, and released on May 31. Months later, Jigra hit theatres in October.
At the time of release, Divya accused Jigra’s makers of:
- copying elements from her film,
- twisting box-office numbers, and
- spreading false collection figures.
Recently, Mukesh Bhatt had reportedly told an outlet that the entire controversy was a “publicity stunt” by Divya — insisting that no one needs to “copy Alia Bhatt” and dismissing her allegations.
That comment changed everything.
Divya Leaks the Recording — And the Conversation Tells a Different Story
In response, Divya shared an audio clip of her phone call with Mukesh Bhatt. The recording has caused a major stir because Mukesh Bhatt appears to deny ever making the statements attributed to him.
In the audio, Divya confronts him directly:
Divya: “Sir, did you say I created controversy for publicity? That I committed some fraud? Did you comment on ‘Savi’ and ‘Jigra’?”
Mukesh Bhatt: “No one asked me anything and I never said any such thing. This is being done by people who have their own motives.”
He even tells Divya that the timing — the controversy being pushed out on her birthday — shows that “someone is trying to harm her” and that it is “a planned move.”
He repeatedly assures her that he did not give any such interview and asks her not to react to “these silly tactics.”
Divya Khosla’s Strong Stand: “I’m in shock… It’s time to expose the mafia.”
Along with the recording, Divya wrote a powerful note on Instagram, where she said:
- she is deeply hurt and shocked by what she learned,
- artists and newcomers suffer because of lobbying and gatekeeping within the industry,
- and she had no choice but to release the recording so the truth could be heard directly.
Her statement read:
“Some groups try to destroy real talent. This behavior is unacceptable. It cannot be normalized anymore. It’s time to speak up. It’s time to expose the industry mafia. I will not stay silent.”
Her post instantly sparked debate across social media, with many calling for transparency and accountability within Bollywood’s internal power circles.
Final Words
What began as a simple disagreement over film promotions has now turned into a full-blown controversy, revealing once again the deep cracks within the industry — from lobbying and factionalism to influence games.
Divya’s decision to release the audio has only intensified the discussion, putting the spotlight back on how narratives are shaped behind the scenes, and how easily an actor or filmmaker can become the target of orchestrated campaigns.
As the clip continues to circulate, all eyes are now on how the industry responds — and what revelations might come next.
