Star Plus’ Sairaab is set to enter a new chapter with a major casting change. After days of speculation surrounding the show’s male lead, Krishna Kaul has emerged as the actor who will take over the role opposite Madirakshi Mundle. While the paperwork is yet to be completed, sources indicate that the casting decision has been finalised, marking Krishna’s return to television in another prominent lead role.
The development comes at a crucial point for the show following Rohit Chandel’s departure. With a fresh pairing and a new storyline expected to unfold, the makers are hoping the transition will keep audiences invested in the drama. Krishna, best known for his work in Kumkum Bhagya, says he is looking forward to becoming part of a show that has already built a strong connection with viewers.
Krishna Kaul Opens Up About Joining The Show
Reacting to the news of his casting, Krishna Kaul shared his excitement about stepping into the world of Sairaab. Calling it an important milestone in his career, the actor said he is aware of the expectations that come with joining an already established television drama. He also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to headline the series alongside Madirakshi Mundle.

Rohit Chandel’s Exit Came After His Arrest
Krishna’s reported entry follows the exit of Rohit Chandel from Sairaab. The actor was arrested by Mumbai’s Ghatkopar police after a 16-year-old girl accused him of stalking, harassment and assault. Based on the complaint, police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act along with relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigation is currently ongoing, and the allegations have not yet been tested in court.
According to the complainant’s statement reported by The Times of India, she alleged that Rohit continued contacting her through his personal mobile number as well as several other phone numbers despite her objections. She further claimed that on July 5, the actor allegedly confronted her near her residential building, chased her, verbally abused her during an argument and physically assaulted her. These allegations remain part of the ongoing police investigation.
Police Investigation Is Ongoing
Following the complaint, Rohit Chandel was booked under the POCSO Act. Authorities also invoked Section 78 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which relates to stalking, and Section 115(2), which deals with voluntarily causing hurt. Police have confirmed that the actor and the complainant were known to each other before the complaint was filed.
Rohit was taken into custody from his Dahisar residence before being produced before a special POCSO court. The court subsequently remanded him to police custody as investigators continue gathering evidence in the case. Confirming the action taken, a police official said, “Following the complaint, a case was registered, and the accused has been placed under arrest. Further probe is underway in the case.” At the time of writing, the investigation remains active, while Sairaab prepares to move forward with Krishna Kaul leading its next chapter alongside Madirakshi Mundle.
