Avika Gor Says She Wants Roles With Real Substance

Avika Gor may have become a household name with Balika Vadhu, but the actor says her priorities have changed significantly over the years. Rather than chasing screen time, she is now focused on finding characters that allow her to showcase her acting abilities. As she returns to television with Khatron Ke Khiladi 15, Avika says every career decision she makes is driven by one goal—choosing stories that leave a lasting impression.

The actor believes audiences now expect strong performances from her, and she wants to live up to those expectations by taking on roles with emotional depth. For Avika, simply appearing in a project is no longer enough if the character doesn’t offer room to perform.

Avika Gor Wants Performance-Oriented Characters

Speaking to ANI during promotions for Khatron Ke Khiladi 15, Avika explained that she has become much more selective when it comes to signing films and shows. She said she looks for scripts that give her an opportunity to explore meaningful characters rather than playing supporting roles with little impact on the story.

Sharing her approach, Avika said, “I just believe that people expect a lot of performance out of me. There are some characters that I keep doing in my films where I get to perform, I get to act, and I get to show what I’m capable of as an actor. So I think for me, the focus is always going to be choosing the right scripts, choosing the right characters where I get to do something more than just being furniture in the film. So I will always be extremely conscious about choosing the right scripts and choosing the right characters.”

Having started her career as a child artist, Avika has steadily expanded her work across television, films and regional cinema. Over the years, she has appeared in several Telugu and Kannada films, earning praise for performances that moved beyond the image audiences first associated with her.

Why Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 Feels Different

Apart from her acting career, Avika is once again testing her limits on Khatron Ke Khiladi 15, hosted by Rohit Shetty. While the reality show is known for its physically demanding and mentally exhausting challenges, the actress believes this season has been less intimidating for her than her previous appearance.

Reflecting on her experience, she said, “This is not an easy show anyway. It’s very challenging. But for me, my earlier season was much more difficult. The kind of stunts that were given to me in that season were scarier to me. So the stunts that I was performing right now did not really scare me to a level where I would feel that I should give up.”

Avika had earlier participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 9 in 2019, making this another opportunity to challenge herself outside the world of scripted entertainment. Her previous experience appears to have given her greater confidence while tackling this season’s stunts.

More Projects Already on the Way

Beyond reality television, Avika has a busy schedule lined up over the coming months. She revealed that she will next be seen in a Punjabi music video scheduled for release on August 7, while also hinting that more acting projects are currently in development.

Without revealing too many details, the actress suggested that television audiences may soon see her in a new scripted project. She said, “There might be something to do with TV as well, very soon. I can’t talk about it right now. But yeah, when the time comes, I will.” Although she kept the project under wraps, the statement has naturally sparked curiosity among fans eager to see her return to fiction programming.

Hosted by filmmaker Rohit Shetty, Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 is currently airing on Colors and streaming on JioHotstar. As Avika Gor continues balancing reality television, films and upcoming projects, she appears determined to shape the next phase of her career with carefully chosen roles that highlight her growth as a performer rather than simply keeping her in the spotlight.
