Composer and singer Palash Muchhal is back in the headlines — and this time, it’s a legal face-off. Days after allegations surfaced accusing him of financial cheating and personal misconduct, Palash has moved swiftly to counter the claims, filing a ₹10 crore defamation notice and calling the accusations “false, outrageous, and deliberately damaging.”
What Triggered the Legal Move
The controversy began when Marathi actor-producer Vidnyan Mane alleged that Palash cheated him of ₹40 lakh in a failed film investment and also made personal claims linked to Palash’s past relationship with Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana. The allegations quickly gained traction online, putting Palash under intense public scrutiny.
Palash Muchhal’s Response
Taking to Instagram on Saturday evening, Palash announced that he has formally responded through legal channels. In his statement, he said a ₹10 crore defamation notice has been sent via his lawyer Shreyansh Mithare, asserting that the claims were made with “deliberate intent to malign my reputation and character.”
Palash also maintained that the accusations were driven by malicious intent and reiterated that he would defend himself legally rather than through social media speculation.
Inside the Allegations
As reported earlier by Press Trust of India, Vidnyan Mane approached police authorities in Maharashtra’s Sangli district with his complaint. According to Mane, he met Palash in December 2023 after expressing interest in investing in film production.
The complaint claims Palash offered Mane a chance to invest in an upcoming project titled Nazaria, promising profits post-OTT release and even a role in the film. Mane alleged that he eventually transferred ₹40 lakh in phases by March 2025, but the project failed to materialise. When he asked for a refund, he reportedly received no response, prompting him to approach the police.
Importantly, no FIR has been registered so far, and the matter remains at the preliminary complaint stage.
Personal Allegations Add Fuel
Beyond the financial dispute, Mane also made personal accusations involving Palash’s relationship with Smriti Mandhana, further intensifying public interest. These claims, however, have not been backed by any official findings and remain allegations at this point.
