After months of shifting dates and silence, Love & War finally has a clear landing spot — and it’s not anytime soon. The film is now officially arriving in cinemas on January 21, 2027.
Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the project has been sitting on heavy buzz ever since it brought together Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in one frame. That casting alone made it one of the most talked-about films even before shooting properly settled.
But the delays? Yeah, those were real.
The film was initially aiming for a 2026 release window, but things didn’t quite line up. Major reason — the actors’ packed schedules. Ranbir is tied up with Ramayana, while Vicky Kaushal has Mahavatar in progress. Because of that, the crucial climax shoot has been pushed to the second half of 2026.

Interestingly, this marks another reunion for Ranbir and Alia with Bhansali after their earlier collaborations, while for Vicky, it’s his first time working with the director — which adds a fresh dynamic to the trio.
The film is also being planned as a pan-India release, coming out in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. So clearly, the ambition isn’t limited to just storytelling — it’s aiming for scale, reach, and impact.
