Television actor Aditi Sharma, known for shows including Apollena – Sapno Ki Unchi Udaan, Rabb Se Hai Dua, and Kaleerein, has approached the Mumbai Police with serious allegations against her husband and his family. An FIR was registered on July 31, 2026, at Goregaon Police Station following her complaint, in which she accused her husband, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law of physical and mental harassment. The case marks the latest development in a marital dispute that had already drawn public attention earlier this year.
According to the complaint, Aditi has alleged that she was subjected to domestic violence, verbal abuse, assault, and repeated character assassination during her marriage. The matter is currently under police investigation, and no arrests have been made so far. The accused have not issued any public statement in response to the allegations at the time of writing.
FIR Names Husband and In-Laws
According to the FIR, Aditi has named her husband Abhineet Vidyanand Kaushik, his mother Urmila Kaushik, and his sister Kirti Kaushik in the complaint. As reported, the case has been registered under Section 85 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for alleged cruelty by a husband or his relatives, Section 316(2) for alleged criminal breach of trust, and Section 352 relating to intentional insult.
The complaint also alleges that her mother-in-law retained her wedding jewellery after the marriage. According to Aditi, the jewellery included gold chains, rings, a diamond ring, a mangalsutra, and bangles, and despite repeated requests, the items were allegedly not returned to her. These claims form part of the ongoing police investigation and have not yet been tested in court.
Aditi Alleges Marriage Changed Soon After the Wedding
In her statement to the police, Aditi said she first met Abhineet in June 2021 while attending an online acting course. Their friendship gradually turned into a relationship, and the couple reportedly moved into a rented apartment in Goregaon West in September 2024 before getting married on November 12, 2024, with the consent of both families.
According to her allegations, problems began emerging only a few days after the wedding. She claimed arguments frequently broke out over her clothing and other everyday matters. Aditi further alleged that instead of contributing equally to household expenses, her husband repeatedly demanded money from her, leading to increasing tension between them.
The complaint also details an incident that allegedly took place on January 1, 2025, when an argument over coffee reportedly escalated into violence. Aditi alleged that after the incident, her husband began questioning her character, accused her of infidelity, regularly checked her mobile phone, and eventually stopped sharing a bedroom with her. She also claimed that whenever disagreements intensified, he would call his mother and sister, who, according to her allegations, would taunt her instead of helping resolve the situation, worsening her emotional distress.
Earlier Dispute Had Already Reached the Public Eye
This is not the first time the couple’s relationship has made headlines. In March 2025, Abhineet publicly accused Aditi of having an extramarital affair with her Apollena co-star Samarthya Gupta. He also alleged that she had demanded ₹25 lakh as part of a divorce settlement and claimed that she had denied the validity of their marriage by describing it as a “mock trial.”
At the time, Aditi did not publicly respond to those allegations. The newly registered FIR, however, presents her version of events through formal legal proceedings, with the investigation now being handled by Assistant Inspector Amita Marathe of Goregaon Police Station. As the inquiry continues, authorities are expected to examine the allegations made by both sides before any further legal action is taken.
Aditi Sharma made her television debut with Kaleerein in 2018 and has since appeared in popular shows including Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka!, Rabb Se Hai Dua, Apollena – Sapno Ki Unchi Udaan, and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 14. With the matter now under investigation, the case is likely to remain in focus as police continue gathering evidence and statements from those involved.
