As Dhurandhar continues its unstoppable run at the box office, swallowing screens and conversations alike, every new release arriving this month has had to face the same uncomfortable question — how do you survive in the shadow of a juggernaut?
For the team behind Rahu Ketu, the answer is refreshingly straightforward: they’re not worried at all.
“Ab Rahu Ketu Dekhiye”: The Team Speaks
During promotions for their upcoming comedy, the cast of Rahu Ketu was asked whether the ongoing Dhurandhar fever could hurt their January 16 release.
Lead actor Pulkit Samrat kept it simple, throwing the choice back to viewers. According to him, the decision ultimately lies with the audience — if they’re curious, they’ll show up.
But it was actor Manu Rishi who delivered the line that instantly went viral.
“Rahu Ketu bhi Dhurandhar film hai. Dhurandhar dekh li yaar ab bahut logon ne… ab aap Rahu Ketu dekhiye,” he said, suggesting that those who wanted to watch Dhurandhar have already done so — and it’s time to make room for something new.
Social Media Isn’t Fully Convinced
While the remark was meant to sound confident, online reactions were anything but unanimous. The comment section quickly filled up with die-hard Dhurandhar fans who weren’t ready to move on just yet.
Several users openly admitted they were planning repeat theatre visits for Dhurandhar, with some claiming they’d already watched it three times — and might go again. Others joked that Manu Rishi’s statement only reminded them to rewatch Ranveer Singh’s film instead of booking tickets for Rahu Ketu.
The contrast couldn’t be clearer: while one film is trying to find breathing room, the other refuses to loosen its grip.
Why Dhurandhar Still Dominates
Released on December 5, 2025, Dhurandhar has become one of the biggest box office phenomena in recent Indian cinema. Headlined by Ranveer Singh, the film has crossed ₹1,200 crore worldwide, overtaking massive titles like RRR, KGF: Chapter 2, and Kantara.
What’s more impressive is its staying power. Even weeks after release, the film continues to pull strong daily numbers, effectively overshadowing newer arrivals such as Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri and Ikkis.
What Rahu Ketu Brings to the Table
Directed by Vipul Vig, Rahu Ketu aims to offer a tonal shift from intense action to light-hearted comedy. The film stars Varun Sharma, Shalini Pandey, and Chunky Panday alongside Pulkit Samrat.
Produced under Zee Studios and BLive Productions, the film is banking on humour, relatability, and word-of-mouth rather than spectacle.
Whether that strategy works in a Dhurandhar-dominated market remains to be seen.
Final Words
There’s confidence — and then there’s box office reality. While the Rahu Ketu team may be unfazed by Dhurandhar’s dominance, audiences clearly haven’t hit fatigue yet. Ranveer Singh’s film is still the main event, and everything else is fighting for attention in its wake.
Come January 16, the real verdict won’t come from interviews or social media debates — it’ll come from ticket counters.
