Suriya’s upcoming film Scene has unveiled its official trailer, offering a glimpse of a crime investigation packed with action, comedy and unpredictable characters. Directed by Jithu Madhavan, the Tamil film stars Suriya as DSP Inbaraj, a police officer who would rather leave the force than follow orders. But an unsettling murder case pulls him back into action, setting up a clash with Naslen’s ruthless criminal Eeswaran.
The trailer also gives Nazriya Nazim a prominent role as Maya, hinting at an action-oriented character who is more than just the protagonist’s partner. With its mix of police procedural and chaotic humour, Scene looks to be a different kind of cop drama for Suriya.
Suriya’s DSP Inbaraj Is Reluctant to Return to Duty
The trailer opens with Inbaraj deciding to resign from the police force, leaving his seniors and colleagues surprised. His superior officer Stephen, played by Lal, repeatedly tries to get him back to work, but the officer seems more interested in relaxing at home and pursuing a new direction in life.
That changes when Inbaraj is drawn into a murder investigation involving a dangerous criminal. The trailer introduces the case as a tense pursuit, but the humour comes from Inbaraj’s unconventional attitude and the unusual people surrounding him.
Rather than presenting him as a perfectly disciplined officer, the film appears to build its lead character around eccentric behaviour, sharp reactions and an unwillingness to do things the expected way.
Naslen and Nazriya Bring Different Energy
Naslen plays Eeswaran, a calculating and dangerous criminal who appears to enjoy the challenge of facing Inbaraj. Their exchanges suggest a cat-and-mouse game in which both characters believe they can outsmart the other.
Nazriya Nazim’s Maya also gets a memorable introduction. The trailer hints at her involvement in the action, giving her character a more active presence in the story. The combination of Suriya’s deadpan humour, Naslen’s unsettling antagonist and Nazriya’s energetic role gives the film a distinct ensemble feel.
Jithu Madhavan Brings His Chaotic Style to Tamil Cinema
Scene marks Jithu Madhavan’s Tamil directorial debut after the Malayalam films Romancham and Aavesham. Both films built their appeal around eccentric characters and situations that steadily spiral into chaos, and the trailer suggests that the filmmaker is bringing a similar sensibility to this police mystery.
The film also features Anandraj, John Vijay and Raj Priyan. Sushin Shyam has composed the music, while Vineeth Augustian serves as cinematographer and Ajmal Sabu handles editing.
Produced by 2D Entertainment and Zhagaram Studios, Scene is scheduled to release in theatres on November 6, 2026. The trailer leaves the central mystery unresolved, placing its focus instead on the unusual cop, the dangerous criminal and the unpredictable investigation that brings them together
