A recent video message from Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi congratulating Nagarjuna and Ram Gopal Varma on the re-release of their cult classic Shiva has unexpectedly reignited a wave of emotion — and reconciliation — between Chiranjeevi and RGV.
In response to Chiranjeevi’s warm wishes, the Sarkar director took to social media to reflect on their long-standing conflict, admitting that he had deeply regretted his past remarks.
“Eight years ago, I made some silly comments on Chiranjeevi Garu’s film Khaidi No. 150. It was totally uncalled for,” RGV confessed. “I regretted my stupidity for eight years. But look at that man’s magnanimity — he has come forward with his generous wishes.”
The filmmaker’s statement marks the end of an eight-year cold war that began after his controversial criticism of Chiranjeevi’s 2017 comeback film. Fans of both icons have welcomed this reconciliation, calling it a “moment of mutual respect” between two creative forces who helped shape Telugu cinema in very different ways.
A Private Conversation — And a Possible Collaboration?
Following the exchange, Ram Gopal Varma revealed that he had a personal conversation with Chiranjeevi, though he preferred not to disclose the details.
However, sources close to the filmmaker suggest that the two might be planning something together. While nothing official has been announced yet, speculation is already swirling that a Chiranjeevi–RGV collaboration could be on the horizon.
