The increasingly public dispute surrounding Govinda, Sunita Ahuja and Roopa co-star Komal Rani Swarnkar has taken another sharp turn.
Komal shared a lengthy Instagram Story responding to comments surrounding Govinda’s marriage and allegations that she had played a role in the couple’s problems. Her clearest message to Sunita was simple: “Stop using my name to serve your agenda.”
She also rejected the “homebreaker” description that has followed her amid speculation about her equation with Govinda, writing, “Nobody ever can be a homebreaker in already broken house.”
The post contained much harsher allegations about Sunita’s treatment of Govinda, including claims of mental harassment and attempts to prevent him from working. Komal also questioned whether women behaving in the way she described were “mentally unwell” or deliberately seeking public sympathy. Those statements are Komal’s allegations and personal characterization; no evidence establishing the claims was presented in the reports reviewed.
The dating rumours remain unconfirmed
That distinction is particularly important because the central claim driving the controversy — that Govinda and Komal are romantically involved — has never been publicly confirmed by either of them.
Speculation intensified after Govinda and Komal were photographed together at Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja pandal, hours after Sunita made a separate visit. Komal is working with Govinda on his upcoming film Roopa.
Govinda subsequently addressed the reports himself and maintained that his association with Komal is professional. He said he visited Lalbaugcha Raja to pray for Roopa and characterized the wider controversy as part of a “strategically planned” effort to damage his image and isolate him.
That makes headlines describing Komal outright as Govinda’s “girlfriend” more definitive than the available facts support. “Rumoured girlfriend” or “co-star linked to Govinda in dating rumours” is more accurate at this stage.
Sunita had said her ‘house is breaking’
Komal’s response followed emotional comments from Sunita during a visit to the Dakshineswar Kali Temple near Kolkata.
Sunita appealed to women and younger viewers for support and said, “Mera ghar toot raha hai for no reason,” or “my house is breaking for no reason.” She also spoke about people using publicity around her personal life, though reports surrounding her recent remarks have varied in how directly they identify Komal.
The marital problems between Govinda and Sunita did not begin with the latest photographs. The Indian Express reports that Sunita had previously filed for divorce, with Govinda’s lawyer saying in 2025 that their differences had subsequently been resolved. Sunita withdrew the petition in August 2026.
Komal’s latest message therefore introduces her version of a dispute that had already been playing out publicly for months.
The dispute has moved beyond the original rumour
What started as speculation over Govinda’s personal life is now increasingly becoming a series of competing public claims.
Sunita has spoken about difficulties in her marriage. Govinda has denied that his professional association with Komal proves a romantic relationship and accused others of attempting to damage him. Komal has now rejected responsibility for the couple’s marital problems while making serious accusations of her own.
As of the latest available reporting, Sunita had not publicly responded to Komal’s newest Instagram statement.
Until there is substantiation beyond social-media statements and public appearances, the clearest distinction is also the most important one: the tensions between Govinda and Sunita are publicly documented, but the alleged Govinda-Komal romance and the accusations now being exchanged around the marriage remain claims rather than established facts.
