Ram Charan has made his first public appearance after undergoing wrist surgery, offering fans a reassuring update on his recovery. The actor visited an Ayyappa temple in Coimbatore alongside his wife, Upasana Konidela, just days after the procedure. While still wearing an arm sling, the Peddi star participated in prayers and spent time interacting with devotees and temple authorities, signalling that his recovery is progressing well.
The visit came shortly after pictures of the actor from his hospital room began circulating online. Production house Vriddhi Cinemas has since confirmed that the surgery was successful and praised Ram Charan for continuing to shoot important portions of Peddi despite his injury.
Ram Charan Seeks Blessings After Surgery
Photos shared on social media showed Ram Charan dressed in traditional attire for his temple visit, wearing an Ayyappa mala, a black shirt and a lungi. Upasana accompanied him in a blue floral kurta set as the couple offered prayers at the temple. Despite his recent surgery, the actor greeted devotees who had gathered to catch a glimpse of him and also posed for photographs with temple priests and officials.
Several pictures from the visit captured Ram praying inside the temple premises while others showed devotees taking photographs as he walked through the complex. Upasana was also seen spending time at the temple’s goshala, where she fed cows during the visit. The couple’s appearance quickly drew attention online, with fans expressing relief after seeing the actor recovering well.
The temple visit follows a challenging few days for Ram Charan, who underwent surgery after aggravating a wrist injury during the filming of his upcoming sports drama.
Production House Confirms Successful Procedure
Earlier this week, producer Bunny Vas shared a photograph of Ram Charan smiling from his hospital bed with his arm supported in a sling. Alongside the picture, he wrote:
“To the dearest Mega Power Star @AlwaysRamCharan garu, wishing you a super speedy recovery following your wrist surgery. Our prayers are with you..Get well very soon and get back into action, Charan garu…”
As concern among fans grew following the viral hospital image, Vriddhi Cinemas, the banner behind Peddi, issued an official statement confirming that the surgery had gone as planned.
“We are happy to know that our beloved Mega Power Star Ram Charan Garu has successfully undergone wrist surgery for an injury sustained during the shoot of Peddi. Despite the discomfort, he continued shooting and completed crucial portions of the film with remarkable dedication and commitment.”
The production house also praised the actor’s professionalism while extending its wishes for his recovery.
“His passion, perseverance, and unwavering professionalism have been truly inspiring to the entire team. We are glad to know that he is doing well. We wish him a smooth and speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back in the best of health very soon.”
The statement highlights that Ram Charan chose to continue filming key sequences before finally undergoing medical treatment, reflecting his commitment to keeping the production on schedule.
Injury Happened During Peddi Shoot
According to the actor’s team, Ram Charan underwent surgery at Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore after suffering a right wrist injury that worsened during the filming of Peddi. The operation was led by renowned orthopaedic surgeon Dr S Rajasekaran, while Dr Alejandro Badia from Miami joined the surgical team because of the complexity of the injury.
Before the surgery, Ram was seen travelling from Hyderabad to Coimbatore with his parents, Chiranjeevi and Surekha, along with Upasana. During that period, Upasana also shared photographs of herself offering prayers to Lord Ganesha and Lord Hanuman, seeking blessings for her husband’s successful surgery and speedy recovery.
Doctors have reportedly advised Ram Charan to slow down over the next few weeks as he recovers from the procedure. While there is no official update on when he will resume shooting, the actor’s latest public appearance has reassured fans that he is recovering steadily. With Peddi being one of his most anticipated upcoming films, supporters will now be hoping to see the actor return to the sets once he receives medical clearance.
