After the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) reportedly issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer following complaints linked to his exit from the film, actor Chunky Panday has now shared his own experience of once being “banned” by the same federation during the early days of his career.
The actor’s comments quickly grabbed attention online because many social media users are already debating whether the current action against Ranveer is fair or selective. Some people believe industry bodies should apply rules equally to everyone, while others argue that these situations are often more complicated internally than they appear publicly.
Chunky, however, avoided directly taking sides in the Don 3 issue and admitted he does not fully know every detail connected to the matter. Still, his old story about being temporarily banned by FWICE has added another layer to the discussion currently happening around Bollywood industry politics.
Chunky Says Bigger Stars Were Never Touched
Speaking about the incident, Chunky recalled that the controversy happened during the shooting of Aag Hi Aag back in 1987. According to him, the entire film industry was on strike at the time, and no shooting activity was supposed to continue anywhere. However, producer Pahlaj Nihalani reportedly continued filming in Bangalore and later in Ooty with the cast and crew.
Chunky explained that because he was still a newcomer whose debut film had not even released properly, strict action was taken against him and several others connected to the production. He also pointed out that legendary stars like Dharmendra and Shatrughan Sinha were part of the same film but were not banned because they were massive superstars at that time and working on dozens of films simultaneously.
The actor openly admitted that he felt the action was easier to take against him because he was new in the industry and lacked influence compared to bigger names. According to Chunky, the ban lasted roughly one week before being lifted after he apologised to the federation.
His comments have now triggered fresh debate online because many fans are comparing his experience to the current Ranveer Singh controversy. Some users feel Bollywood’s internal disciplinary actions have always depended heavily on star power and industry position rather than equal treatment.
Don 3 Dispute Continues To Grow Bigger
The current situation involving Ranveer Singh reportedly escalated after Farhan Akhtar approached FWICE over issues connected to the actor’s abrupt exit from Don 3. Following that, the federation reportedly instructed its members not to collaborate with Ranveer in future projects, creating massive discussion across entertainment circles.
Soon after the directive became public, Ranveer’s spokesperson released an official statement addressing the situation. The statement stressed that the actor continues to have deep respect for the film fraternity and everyone associated with the Don franchise. It also mentioned that Ranveer deliberately chose not to react publicly because he believes professional matters should be handled with dignity and mutual respect rather than public speculation.
Interestingly, Ranveer himself has still not directly spoken about the controversy despite the situation continuing to dominate entertainment headlines for days.
