Long before dating rumours linked RJ Mahvash with cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and before social media turned her into one of the internet’s most recognizable personalities, the actress says she was silently battling one of the darkest periods of her life. In a deeply emotional conversation recently, Mahvash opened up about a traumatic relationship from her teenage years that pushed her into severe depression, panic attacks, and eventually multiple hospital visits.
The actress revealed that she got engaged at the age of just 19 after falling deeply in love with a man she had met on Facebook. According to her, he was a well-known figure in Aligarh and at that point she genuinely believed she would spend the rest of her life with him. Mahvash admitted that she was so emotionally attached to him during those years that she even told her family she would run away if they ever refused the marriage. Looking back now, her words feel less dramatic and more like the desperation of someone completely consumed by first love.
But behind the emotional attachment, things had already started breaking apart slowly. Mahvash shared that her former fiancé repeatedly cheated on her — not once, but three different times. What makes the story more heartbreaking is that she kept forgiving him despite discovering his infidelity again and again. Like many people trapped in emotionally damaging relationships, she convinced herself that things could still improve if she stayed patient enough and fought harder for the relationship.
Eventually though, the emotional damage became impossible to ignore. Mahvash recalled suffering from severe panic attacks during that phase and said the situation became so serious that she had to be hospitalised multiple times. She explained that she was put on heavy medication and injections, which started affecting her mentally and physically. According to her, the medicines became so intense that she began hallucinating and imagining people around her even when nobody was there.
The most painful moment for her, however, came during one particular hospital stay. Mahvash said she informed her fiancé about her condition and expected him to at least visit or emotionally support her. Instead, his response completely shattered her emotionally. According to the actress, he called her “crazy” and worried more about how his family would react if they found out she was being treated like a “mental patient.” That sentence, she admitted, completely changed how she looked at the relationship forever.
Mahvash explained that hearing those words from the very person she was emotionally destroying herself for became the final wake-up call. She realised the relationship was no longer about love but about emotional survival. In the interview, she reflected on that phase with surprising honesty and maturity, saying sometimes people don’t even realise what kind of disaster God is saving them from until much later in life.
What added another layer to the story was her revelation about what happened afterward. Mahvash claimed her ex-fiancé later got married but eventually ended up divorced after allegedly cheating on his pregnant wife as well. According to her, that made her realise the behaviour was never about her shortcomings but rather a repeated pattern in his personality. There was sadness in her words, but also relief — almost like she finally made peace with something that haunted her for years.
The actress’ comments quickly started resonating with many people online because the story felt painfully real and unfiltered. Unlike polished celebrity interviews where painful experiences are usually softened for public image, Mahvash spoke openly about mental health struggles, emotional dependency, panic attacks, and toxic relationships without trying to glamorize any part of it. Many social media users praised her honesty, especially younger audiences who related to staying too long in emotionally damaging relationships.
Over the last few years, Mahvash has built a strong public identity through her prank videos, radio work, and social media content, but recently she has also started transitioning into acting seriously. After making her acting debut in 2025 with Pyaar Paisa Profit, she is now preparing for the release of her next project Satrangi: Badle Ka Khel. The series also stars Kumud Mishra and Anshuman Pushkar and is scheduled to premiere on ZEE5 on May 22, 2026.
But beyond promotions and internet headlines, this interview probably revealed the most human side of RJ Mahvash people have seen till now. Not the viral influencer version. Not the rumoured celebrity girlfriend version. Just someone who went through emotional damage very young, survived it somehow, and slowly rebuilt herself piece by piece afterward.
