Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela’s upcoming romantic musical, directed by Anurag Basu, finally has a confirmed theatrical release date. The yet-untitled film will arrive in cinemas on April 30, 2027, following several changes to its release schedule.
Production company T-Series announced the date on October 15, sharing a romantic photograph of the lead pair.
“A new story which will stay in your heart is ready to unfold on the big screen,” the announcement read.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, the film marks Kartik and Sreeleela’s first on-screen collaboration, with Pritam composing the music.
Why Was Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela’s Film Delayed?
The project was introduced in February 2025 with a musical teaser featuring Kartik in a rugged, guitar-playing avatar.
Initially expected in December 2025, the release was subsequently pushed toward 2026 before receiving its latest April 2027 date.
In April 2026, Basu clarified that filming was still underway, revealing that only around 45 days of shooting had been completed at the time.
The newly confirmed release date therefore provides some clarity after months of uncertainty surrounding the production.
Is the Film Connected to Aashiqui 3?
Despite early speculation, the upcoming romance is not Aashiqui 3. T-Series previously clarified that Basu’s project was unrelated to the popular romantic franchise.
The film instead presents an original love story, although its official title and detailed storyline remain undisclosed.
The collaboration also reunites Basu with Pritam, whose previous projects together include Barfi!, Jagga Jasoos and Metro… In Dino.
For Sreeleela, already established in Telugu and Kannada cinema, the project represents an important opportunity to reach Hindi-film audiences in a leading role.
With the theatrical date settled, attention now turns to the film’s official title, soundtrack and trailer.
