Disney and Pixar have released the first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5, teasing a fresh adventure — and a brand-new threat — for Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the gang.
The preview also offers a first look at the film’s new antagonist, Lilypad, a frog-shaped smart tablet voiced by Greta Lee (Past Lives). The tech-savvy toy makes playtime a lot more complicated for the beloved crew.
The returning voice cast features all the fan favourites: Tom Hanks once again as the loyal cowboy Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack as cowgirl Jessie, and Tony Hale reprising his role as the handcrafted toy Forky. Joining the lineup this time is Conan O’Brien, who lends his voice to a toilet-training tech toy hilariously named Smarty Pants.
In a joint statement, director Andrew Stanton and co-director Kenna Harris shared how the film explores the toys’ place in today’s tech-driven world:
“It’s been a hilarious and poignant journey exploring how our favorite legacy toys might respond to today’s world of technology. Having Greta Lee bring Lilypad to life — balancing a playfully antagonistic tone with humor and heart — has been incredible.”
Toy Story 5 is set to hit theatres on June 19, 2026, marking another emotional — and possibly nostalgic — ride for audiences who’ve grown up with the franchise.
