Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s romantic horror comedy Thamma, which released this Diwali, continues to hold strong at the box office. Even in its third week, the film has managed to attract steady footfall, showing renewed momentum over the weekend — particularly on its third Saturday and Sunday.
‘Thamma’ Box Office Collection Day 20
As per early estimates, Thamma earned around ₹1.65 crore on its 20th day (third Sunday), taking its total domestic collection to an impressive ₹131.05 crore.
The movie opened on a blockbuster note, crossing the ₹100 crore milestone in its first week with total earnings of ₹108.4 crore. However, collections dipped sharply in its second week — down by 82.75% — with a total of ₹18.7 crore.
By its third Friday, the film slipped below the ₹1 crore mark for the first time, earning about ₹80 lakh, but quickly bounced back the next day, collecting ₹1.5 crore on Day 19, proving that strong word of mouth is still driving audiences to theatres.
‘Thamma’ Closing In on MHCU Favorites
With ₹131.05 crore already in the bag, Thamma is inching closer to surpassing several key titles in the Maddock Cinematic Horror Universe (MHCU). The film is now on track to overtake the lifetime collections of Roohi (₹131 crore) and Bhediya (₹132 crore), putting it in direct comparison with Stree (₹124 crore) — the benchmark that started the universe’s success story.
While trade analysts note that Thamma may not have matched Stree’s cultural impact, its box office endurance has been remarkable, especially in a crowded release window packed with festive and action-heavy films.
The Road Ahead
The film has a few days left to add to its earnings before Ajay Devgn’s De De Pyaar De 2 arrives in cinemas on November 14. The new release is expected to take away a portion of Thamma’s audience, but if the current pace continues, it could wrap its theatrical run around ₹135–₹140 crore.
Final Words
Blending romance, humor, and horror in just the right dose, Thamma has become one of the surprise hits of the festive season. The chemistry between Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, coupled with Aditya Sarpotdar’s engaging direction, has struck a chord with audiences who enjoy emotional yet entertaining cinema.
Three weeks on, Thamma continues to stand tall — not just as a box office success, but as another solid addition to the ever-expanding Maddock Horror Comedy Universe.
