There’s a certain intensity in the air around Dacoit, and the newly released trailer only makes it clearer — this isn’t your usual action film. Led by Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, the film leans into a darker, more emotional space where revenge collides with unresolved love.
Right from the first few frames, the trailer sets a gritty tone. Sesh appears in one of his most aggressive avatars yet — not just physically intense, but emotionally charged. His character isn’t chasing revenge for the thrill of it; there’s history, pain, and something deeply personal driving every move. And that’s where the film starts to separate itself from typical action dramas.
Directed by Shaneil Deo, Dacoit carries a strong visual identity. The frames feel raw and textured, almost like the camera is living inside the chaos rather than observing it. It’s not polished in a glossy way — it’s deliberately rough, which works in the film’s favour.

Unlike many of his past projects like Goodachari, which leaned heavily into sleek spy storytelling, Dacoit feels more instinctive and grounded. Interestingly, the film went through a key casting shift earlier. Shruti Haasan was initially part of the project but stepped away due to scheduling and creative differences, paving the way for Mrunal Thakur to step in — a change that now feels like it has brought a different emotional texture to the film.
Originally planned for a March release, Dacoit will now arrive in theatres on April 10. The delay wasn’t accidental — it was a strategic move to avoid clutter and give the film a clearer run at the box office. Shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi, it’s clearly aiming for a wider, pan-India audience.
Music has also started building momentum, with tracks like Touch Buddy (or Chichubuddi in Telugu) adding a contrasting, lighter layer to an otherwise intense narrative.
At its core, Dacoit doesn’t look like a story about revenge alone. It’s about what happens after betrayal — when anger fades just enough for emotions to creep back in.
