After a modest start on Christmas, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri faced a reality check at the box office on its second day. The Kartik Aaryan–Ananya Panday romantic drama saw a clear dip in collections on Friday, struggling to hold momentum amid heavy competition from bigger releases.
Day 2 box office: numbers take a hit
According to early estimates, the film earned around ₹5 crore net on Day 2, down from its ₹7.75 crore opening day. The drop comes despite the advantage of a holiday release, underlining the film’s muted initial buzz.
With the first two days accounted for, the film’s total India net collection now stands at approximately ₹12.75 crore — a figure that puts pressure on the crucial weekend ahead.
India gross and worldwide figures
On the gross front, the film’s all-India total is estimated at around ₹15 crore. Overseas markets have added roughly ₹2 crore, taking the film’s worldwide collection to about ₹17.25 crore after two days.
These numbers remain on the lower side for a film led by a star of Kartik Aaryan’s current market position.
Tough competition at the ticket window
One of the biggest hurdles for Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is the crowded box office landscape. On the same Friday:
- Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar continued its dream run, earning around ₹15 crore even in its fourth week
- Hollywood tentpole Avatar: Fire and Ash pulled in close to ₹7.5 crore, dominating English-language screens
With Dhurandhar controlling the Hindi belt and Avatar ruling premium formats, Kartik’s film has been left fighting for limited audience attention.
Occupancy reflects lukewarm response
The struggle was visible in footfall numbers as well. The film recorded an overall occupancy of 19.92%, indicating cautious audience turnout across most centres. While not a complete washout, the numbers suggest that strong word of mouth will be critical going forward.
Where it stands in Kartik Aaryan’s box office list
From a career perspective, the film still has ground to cover. It needs to cross ₹32.02 crore to surpass Shehzada and break into Kartik Aaryan’s top 10 highest-grossing films.
At the top of that list remains Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which currently holds the actor’s personal best with ₹260.11 crore. Notably, Kartik has traditionally opened in double digits mainly with franchise titles like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, making expectations for this non-franchise release more measured.
Weekend will decide the film’s fate
While a low opening was largely expected, the sharper-than-anticipated Day 2 drop raises concerns. With Saturday and Sunday still to come, the spotlight is firmly on whether Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri can find some breathing room, stabilise its numbers, and claw back momentum at the box office.
